I have a 2014 Tundra and at cold start it will sound like a Deisel till it warms up. Toyota said it’s normal and fine but I didn’t agree and asked them to look further into the problem. After taking the top off the engine and doing a thorough investigation they said it was a small electronic valve in the bottom of the engine. It would cost me $5500 to get it replaced. Has anyone else had this explanation.

My truck sounds like a diesel at times. Truck runs great otherwise. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.
