So I’ve noticed on two separate occasions now that my audio goes quiet (kinda like when the volume turns down to read text messages but not exactly). It almost sounds like one of the speakers is dead but then slowly volumes up and comes back.

I figured a dead/shorted speaker would sputter more and not gradually change like this seems to be doing. I’ve also only noticed that both times it’s happened when listening to the radio and reaching what I assume is close to the tower’s limit. I don’t get the usual white noise that usually comes as you reach the end of the tower radius.

Here’s my theory: this is the truck’s way to handle a weak signal? Haven’t had it happen with CarPlay yet.

Does anyone else have this issue? Am I just kidding myself? How do I get the shop to replicate this kind of thing and figure out which speaker is wonky? I’ve driven 10k miles and only noticed it these two times and the only common denominator is that it’s radio audio only so far and when I’m far away from home.

First I think you’re the only one that the volume dims to read text. I turn off my audio to hear my text messages
