    What are the chances that my engine jumps time if I only install new Aisin water pump but not the timing belt?

    The same as its chances where before....which depends on how old the belt and tensioner are.

    Installed in 2021, water pump failed this month.
    Only 25K miles put on belt and tensioner.
    I have a new whole pump kit with timing belt. (AISIN) just need to know which option is best.

    I'm going to say the chance of jumping teeth is so close to zero that you can take it to be zero. Just my $0.02

    If you're already inside to change the water pump, and you already have a new belt...why on earth wouldn't you install it?

    Pockets tapped right now since I replaced Front-End suspension and Full Brake Job. Had enough for just the water pump but mechanic told me it might “jump time” unless I put the whole kit on with belt but pockets tapped. Decision Decisions

    Am I understanding this correctly?
    - You have replaced the failed water pump -- which requires removal of the timing belt.
    - Upon reassembly you have the choice of installing the two year old timing belt, or the new timing belt that came with the kit.

    How are you saving money by re-using the old timing belt?:confused:

    @1kTyy_1

    I'll send you a "Mitsuboshi" timing belt for shipping cost if you are strapped (who isn't these days?). It is brand new in the bag, it came with the AISIN TKT-021 kit for a 2001 Tundra 4.7 V8. Long story short, I ended up with two timing belts while trying to gather parts to replace mine. AISIN provides parts for Toyota, so this belt is OE spec.

    If it fits your engine, you are welcome to it.
