    Forgive my ignorance on this, and I guess I could just google it... but, doesn't ablation basically cut/tear into tissue and then leave scaring as part of the healing process?? Is that done to hopefully 'disrupt' or change electrical signals in the heart, or am I totally not understanding that :notsure:

    Yes...you nailed it. My Cardiologist is one of the top in the country. He's done over 20K ablation procedures. My 1st ablation was his 18,999th! If you have an Apple smart watch.....there is an EKG app that Apple had him write the code! Cardioversion's are always iffy. In my case since the Cardioversion to eliminate my atrial flutter didn't take, ablations to my lower left atrium should fix it. Ablation procedure is around $150K before insurance settlement. Probably half that. Good thing I have good insurance.

    yikes... that's crazy (cost, the amount done by the surgeon, and you just having to deal w/all that)!!!!

    Sounds like you've been at it for a bit... None of my business, so feel free to tell me I'm asking TMI and I'll shut up, but I'm just curious... are the defects/issues you've been having genetic for you, or are they complications or issues that came about following a heart attack??

    Either way, my family and I will keep you in our prayers!!!

    Nothing genetic. UCHealth even did a genetic test. No heart attack. No one in my family has had a heart attack. I didn't even know I had this issue until my last annual physical. These heart issues are caused by my cancer meds. I'm on some hardcore pills. I take 22 various pills every morning. Zytiga is now only $7600 a month. There's always a trade off.

    The two small community hospitals closest to us have free parking but when we have to venture into the city for more specialized care, it's $2.25 per half hour up to a max of $15 a day, $40 a week or $70 a month.
