After 37,000 miles and 4 years I have retired my tired Ridge Grapplers. The tires still have tred but the rubber compound was so hard and old that I could feel the discomfort when driving.

Mounted a new set of Recons today and the it’s incredible how much more comfortable the truck is again with new tires.

You should feel a big difference in the weight and the 10ply. Which did you get? I have 285/70/18’s Nitto’s grapplers. I seen these 2 years ago at the truck show.

The Recon Grappler and Ridge Grappler are the same weight (59 pounds) and both are 10 ply, I purchased the Recon Grapplers this week. The new Recons are nice and soft right now, I suspect because the rubber compound is still newer. They are quieter than my old Ridge’s and have a 55K mileage warranty. Will be interesting to see below they perform over the next 3-4 years.

Now that you are about 20 months in with the Recons would it be possible for an update. Have also had the Ridges for the last several years so am very curious about the change. Also, as I get older my offroad time has decreased so the Recons seem possibly better.

They are nearly a perfect tire. Will only run Recons here out.
