Today I tried to tilt up the rear end of the pano roof with the shade far enough forward to block the bright sunlight from hitting me. IT CAN'T be done. When I push the button to tilt the pano roof the shade goes half way back by itself. If I move the shade back a few inches from full closed then push the button to tilt up the pano roof, the shade goes back by itself again.

On ALL of my previous vehicles I was able to keep the shade just a few inches open whilst also having the glass sunroof tilted up. That gave good ventilation while driving and blocked the bright sunlight from blinding me (as an eyeglass wearer I'm sensitive to direct sunlight striking the rear of my eyeglasses....most eyeglass wearers will sympathize). So what's with our spiffy, modern and fancy Tundras not doing this too? Bad design choice Toyota !!

    Lots of stuff!
We have 2 other cars that have screens below the sunroof. These screens are more of a mesh to allow air to flow through. The screen in the Tundra doesn’t have any holes in it so perhaps the concern is damage from the suction? I does seem sort of flimsy. I can see it getting sucked out the open sunroof!

hence the op stating they cracked the shade to remedy this. do this on my 14 4runner as i dont want all that sun but still want the airflow benefit of cracking the moonroof
