First time towing a trailer with brakes with my truck... it has the factory brake controller installed...i cant get the truck to even recognize trailer but have lights and everything... checked fuses all seem to be good.
I did hook my yukon up to the same trailer and its aftermarket brake controller recognized it So trailer is good.

Does it have to be hooked up to a trailer for you to fumble through the display to find the trailer brake page or does it automatically show up

I had an issue where my truck wouldn't recognize there was a trailer. I had to get the Brake Controller ECU flashed at the dealership.

I would try testing on another trailer to be sure.

If it's the first time towing, use the electric conductor spray in the trailer connector on the truck. sometimes they can get dirty and interrupt the signal. Also, have you tried both the 7 pin and 4 pin connections?
