Well somehow I walked away without a scratch. Guy came across the median head on at me, I saw it in time to swerve so instead of a direct driver side hit it ended up like this. I did a 180. The bed nearly came off the truck. Driveshaft went flying about 50 feet past where I ended up. It pushed the bed into the passenger side of the cab. Rear axle was nearly completely unattached. I had just put new suspension, brakes and cv axle on within the last 6 months….35594BCA-0CF9-4A0D-A981-B57A3EDF7B5A.jpgEE2D04DE-DFA9-441A-93C2-70C96BC61CAB.jpgC4149EC8-92EE-4F98-98B5-648C01C62FCC.jpg

Holy crap! I'm glad that you're not hurt! Your Trusty Tundra did it's job perfectly and protected you! I'm sorry this happened to you.
I hope the other party's insurance company will make things right for you.
Please keep us all updated on this forum as we're more like brothers and sisters, rather than complete strangers, on here.

Damn. Glad you walked away! That was quite the hit.

Being on this site since 2016 I have seen some horrendous accidents. One thing I have noticed is everyone has walked away with minimal if any injuries. That is a testament to Toyota quality when it matters.

Good luck on the search for the next Tundra and if you need any help locating one...reach out. The members here are pretty good at spending other peoples money. :anonymous:

Glad your ok OP. Sorry about the truck. I had a professor in college that was hit on the freeway and rolled his 4Runner a couple times. Was teaching class the next day without a scratch. Said he would be buying Toyota 4Runners for the foreseeable future.

Wow! I'm glad you're ok. Your swerving definitely improved the outcome. Best of luck finding a replacement.

Looks like you found another one.

Any update on why the guy crossed into your lane?

Dash cams are worth every penny.

If you leave today, you could still make it to Tundras to Sedona in time with the new truck! Theoretically that is.

He told police he was tired and falling asleep. Whether that’s true or not, I don’t know.

Holy crap. If you hit head on that would be a combined speed of over 100 mph. People usually don’t walk away from that no matter what you’re driving. Glad you steered away in time.
