So far I really love it!
Auto dimming Rear view mirror actually works at night as the Ford would only dim when hit with light and that's too late for these older eyes.
No puddle lights is a downer.
Automatic cameras coming to a stop I dig big time for parking.
Like how the bed lights are on with any door open vs ford had to reach into bed to press button.
H rated tires are very stiff.
    Tailgate is so light.
Pop the hood and the whole neighborhood knows it!
Automatic steps are really wide and the right hight.
ASS is nice because of light brake pressure so I don't have to disable it.
Fitment is wonderful vs the Ford really bad.
    Really good looking Tundra period
I'm happy so I have to stop now
Thanks for being such a great Forum and members too ❤️

Beautiful truck and I really love the Platinum trim. What model ford are you coming from? How does the stereo compare to your old truck?

2018 F150 Lariat B&O system. JBL is better, clearer, stronger bass. FM radio reception is worst in the Tundra without a reg wip antenna but I stream my music most of the time.

Enough light so I don't step in doggy poo!
Should call them poo poo lights lol.
Funny how the Ford had puddle lights but when the door is opened no light inside the door so now the Tundra has no PL but when you open the door you do have a lamp. Weird

I think the JBL has a larger sub woofer also.

I switched from a ‘22 Ford F-150 Platinum to my ‘22 Tundra Platinum and while I think the JBL is great, I have to admit the B&O in the Ford was a little better.

I found my 2012 Platinum had far superior sound to my new Tundra 1794. Just no bass out of the sub.....they missed the cutoff frequency

Did the Ford have the higher speaker system not the 8 speaker?

Hmm, mine thumps really good for me. The exterior mirrors even shake! Xm radio stinks for sound quality, I mostly use Amazon and you can change the quality of the music and this makes a huge difference in what you hear.
I proved this to my wife driving home from Harrisburg we put on xm and then I switched to Amazon with same song, night and day difference as the lower bit rate from xm was so obvious.
Switching on the atmos 360 really opens up the experience too.

It had the 18 speaker B&O system. The one with speakers in the headrests.

Is the auto cameras when coming to a stop a setting you have to turn on? I’ve never had it happen on my platinum I’ve had for a year.

Put your truck in reverse and look for a (auto) option on the right of the screen.

Any idea when and how long the camera activates? I put mine in auto today and it comes on at curves and turns but seems random

I have the 19 speaker HK system in my Ram. It’s good but not mind blowing. I expected more.

In auto mode it is low speed activated, I believe its around 6mph. It's a great feature, mine stays in auto.

I've got a '22 Lariat and I'm close to making the switch to Tundra. What do you miss about the F150 Platinum and like about the Tundra? Thanks

Wow, that's a tuff question. So far just the automatic steering wheel heater vs Tundra is manual on/off, 10min remote start vs 15+ with the ford, not a fan of the H rated tires (very stiff side walls) and trying to get used the heater/ac controls locations as they are completely different.
I love the stereo, adaptive cruise control, automatic parking camera, lumbar is adj up and down too, toyotas GPS is really good and easy to say "ok toyota" and tell her where you want to go,body lines are perfect ford's we're really bad. Tail gate is one finger close very lite.

    1. with the new engine 10 mins is more than enough to get snow/ice melted on the front/sides for us in ND. this engine warms up hell of lot faster than the old v8 for defrosting the windows.

    2. new stereo is several orders of magnitude better then the 2nd gen jbl system, you can actually get some bass out of it

    3. steering wheel heats up plenty fast to not worry about having automatic

    4. replaced oem tires with duratracs, never cared for oem tires period

    5. we live in a small town (25 sq miles) so really dont need gps maps. any trips we make in ND you really dont need gps since most of the big towns are easy to remember (for me at least)

    6. wish there was a was to disable tail gate unlock button via fob. wish didnt have to use carisita/techsteam to en/dis able it.

Not to bash Ford but F150's are can be heavily decontented. For example, my Lariat is loaded but no heated steering wheel. No start/stop either which is a good thing. The Platinums right now have the multi contour seats deleted which is one of the reasons people buy that level. Many don't have bed cameras right now.

    Thanks for your comments.

That's what I was seeing on the Ford window stickers, alot of things deleted and an XLT loaded for over 60k! I'm happy with the toyota and I had to correct the rear air suspension hight also the grunting seat which I found the problem and posted it on this forum. Simple little things that's easy to correct vs arguments at the dealership because we know more that they do.
Oh my 2018 f150 didn't have adp cruise control

It's not a contest but I can take any Ford dealer story and top it by at least 2x. When the new stuff goes bad it goes really bad. Short supply on parts, even lower capacity for techs, must follow Ford repair protocol sequences for the dealer to get paid which equals lots of time. Instead of ordering three modules they suspect are bad, they have to order them one at a time. Next thing you know, the truck is in the shop for 1 month plus.
The F150 with a big tank is still my favorite form factor but the quality and service challenges are a deal breaker.
The only thing that causes me pause about the Tundra is I really like and use the wide flat floor with rear seats up. I don't like the start/stop on any car but I'll get over it.

Again, happy you like your Tundra and appreciate the comments. I'm so scorched on my F150 I'm being really cautious.

Though but good question. There are lots of things I like better about the Tundra but there are things I miss about the Ford. Not mentioning items like dependability or styling (Tundra wins both in my opinion), below is a list of some items:

Things I like better w/ Tundra:
    - more power and smoother transmission shifts.
    - I like the ride better in the Tundra (I have AVS). Ford felt like the shocks were bad even though it was new.
    - power rear window.
    - power windows (Ford was painfully slow on all windows)
    - rear ventilated seats my kids love.
    - Storage under rear seats (non Hybrid)
    - many more

things I miss about the Ford:
    - split screen functionality (Tundra missed the mark not including this with the big 14” screen)
    - flat floor rear seats (not a fan of the hump w/ the Tundra)
    - dedicated button for remote start on key fob (Tundra key fob trick doesn’t work all the time and I don’t really use the app much at all)
    - radio would stay on when you turned truck off until you opened the door
    - power tailgate was cool but don’t really miss it much. I was always worried I’d accidentally hit the button with the truck in the garage and scrape it up, lol.

Only thing I truly regret about the Ford is buying it in the first place, only owning it for 6 months. Bought it cause I needed a full-size truck and was told by multiple dealers in Nov ‘21 that I’d have to wait around a year to get the Tundra unless I wanted to pay a ridiculous markup (no thanks). Ended up getting lucky and finding the one I wanted at msrp soon after.

Ford techs I had were good just everything else was terrible. Last straw was Trans puked out vent tube and overheated dealer said it was 3 1/2 qts over full and reflashed module Trans never been serviced........
