    Has anyone driven a Tacoma?

Dropped my Tundra off at Toyota to get that ceramic coating and they gave me a Tacoma Limited 4x4 as a loaner. Wow, what a reduction in everything. I realize that its a smaller truck, but dang. While it does look good on the outside, it sucks having to drive it. Small seats, small space, less power, and just not as much fun to drive.

I had to bring my 2-year old and trying to fit a carseat in the back was a PITA, you have to move the passenger front seat so far forward that you couldn’t sit in the front seat.

Not trying to bash on Tacomas but man, I’m so glad I got my Tundra. I originally wanted a Tacoma and actually had my mind set on getting one when I was test driving, but figured I’d try a Tundra just to try it. Needless to say I was sold on getting a Tundra after driving it.

Anyways, just sharing that experience with everyone because I actually got to drive a Tacoma for a bit after falling in like with my Tundra and I’m so glad I just happen to test drive the Tundra.

Had a loaner Tacoma whilst mine was in for a couple of days. Just takes some getting used to the size, was fun to drive around though

I traded my Tundra for a Tacoma. Loved the Tundra, but didn't need that much truck. They just serve different purposes.

I do miss my Tacoma and 4Runner especially because of the size. I feel I will regret going back to one of them because of the power loss.

I was really afraid of the power loss myself. The lower seating makes it feel plenty fast though, and as long as you don't need to tow large stuff, the Taco feels peppy enough. At least with the Pro exhaust it does. Amazing how much the sound influences how sporty something feels.

I guess I’m just laughing because this Tundra is my first truck and I’ve been pining over Tacomas for decades. I never test drove one until a couple weeks ago.

I feel a little silly for liking something so much from a distance, thinking how good it’ll be once I get one, and then not even like driving it. I didn’t even consider a Tundra because I didn’t like the look.

    Now I’m questioning everything!

I wanted the Taco forever, too. Same with not driving it. That was part of what made me look, but I loved my Tundra. What flipped me was that my plans changed and I didn't need the 1/2 ton capability, and a buddy got a Taco and let me drive it. We went out elk hunting and I drove the Tundra on day and the Taco the next, and it was sooooo much easier off pavement in the smaller truck. I still planned to stay in the Tundra, though. Told my buddy that if they ever put Solar Octane on the Taco I'd probably have to buy one. Two days later he sent me a pic of the SO Taco. The rest is history.

Even better in person, but this was the day of the trade. If I could have swung it I would have had both, but that just wasn't practical.

I go off road for work a lot. We frequently rent Tacoma 4x4’s and I’ve found they are very capable little trucks.

I wouldn’t want one for an everyday driver and agree that their interior dimensions are small and odd. If you are wanting a capable off roader, it’s a good choice.

I was the same, though I also really liked the Tundra, I even test drove a Tacoma first. I didn't realize just how small the interior was though. The salesperson made the mistake of putting my (tall) wife in the backseat and within 5 seconds she said that we weren't going to buy that car. Drove the Tundra right after and we loved it!

I was actually looking for a new Taco to replace my 2005 Taco (that I loved) when I bought my Tundra. It was love at first drive and a night and day difference. There's no way I could go back to a Taco.

My Taco was awesome on the snow. I haven't had the level of snow yet to see how my Tundra handles it.
