MillerCat Install

I just did a full MillerCat guard install and have a few tips.
I used my hoist but this should still help if doing an install on the ground.

Install side panels to main panel before installation on truck.

You don’t need a Rivnut tool and don’t need to buy the special tool from MillerCat. I made my own tool that is pictured.

Installing the Rivnuts with the custom tool is easy. The one mistake I made was not using a short Allen key on the left side. This made it difficult to remove the Allen and the tool, so use a short Allen if you can.

To help with install, I held the main plate, with side panels installed, roughly where it would bolt on.
I installed one long bolt into the rear cross member just to keep the plate up.
I then clamped the front of the plate onto the front cross member and then inserted the two front mounting bolts loosely.


Next install the rear cat guards if you have them. It’s a little awkward getting the supplied nuts in place, but I found if you place the nuts on the frame, then insert the bolts into the frame and thread nuts onto the bolts.
Tighten all bolts to spec.
