Yeah everyone I wheel with in TX uses hilifts. I've never bothered to buy one because there's always several in the group. Several of the guys are much much more seasoned wheelers than I am, too. So I never worried. Plus I spent a lot of time on a farm as a kid. Gotta change that old Allis Chalmers tractor tire one way or another.

But I been taking a stupid chance not having any type of jack Incase of a flat, especially on road trips. That goes double for this road trip.

That's a good thing you just did. Anyway, do you have rock sliders? Need 'em for farm jacks, but the bottle jacks will work at a lot of places on a truck.

Sliders were my first armor purchase. I've used my buddies hilift on my sliders once before. Brute Force did a good job. But yeah the rig is armored front bumper, rear bumper, sliders and skid plates. I was really into offroading Toyotas before I even offroaded my first 4x4, so I already drank the Kool aid long ago. Been on Toyota forums for over a decade learning stuff. Took me 6 years of learning about Tacoma's before I bought my Tundra

Now you know why I said I wanted to follow Casper or anyone else that's heavily modded. I've got a rear locker and 4.56's too. She's been a spoiled truck.

I just can't wait to crack open one of these fabled Cactus Coolers. As soon as I get to NM I'll be on alert for em. That and a dispensary! :D
My buddy was talking shit about NM and AZ bud because he's had CO and OR bud. I don't think it matters. I know it won't matter to me.

What you need from SATX? I might go thru that way. Haven't decided. But Casey is like an hour I think from the city.

I'm not 'anti hi-lift'. Just sayin; 95% of the time I see one mounted on a vehicle, it's a jeep. the other 5% is on @AZBoatHauler's truck.:boink:

(Coordinates are to the entrance - specific campsite location will be shared soon)

The usual T2S campsite will not be open in time due to the amount of snow this winter.
Main camp is relocating to the Cinders in Flagstaff.

This is only about 15 minutes further from Sedona than our usual spot, and has significant tree cover as well as nearby trails to explore if you haven’t already.

    Our schedule remains the same.

With this plus the fact that just in the time from when I drove to work this morning to now when I drove home gas jumped another $0.30. We may bow out. Gas is now $4.80 (and probably closer to $6 around Phoenix), towing a trailer at 8 mpg and camping in dusty volcanic rocks doesn't sound worth it.

edit - also it’s no dustier in the camp we’ll have than at our normal camp. Possibly less so.

I'll have to calm down and think. I honestly couldn't believe the spike in gas and was about to fly into an expletive laden political rant, the site change just put me over the top. I'm going to go drink heavily and think about it.
