FWIW, I run Fox front coilovers. I experienced the same trouble with tires rubbing on hydraulic lines. I had a local shop adjust / re-clock / re-route and clamp to work around this problem.

I haven't noticed trouble with brake line clearance.

I also haven't really pushed the limits on my truck at all yet.

I think much of what Darkness had written was valid and some is still valid and for sure these shocks are overkill for my needs, but the problems with Fox are in the realm of what I would consider manageable.

Can some people chime in here about what they're running in the rear of their truck?
I have fox 2.0 currently and feel like the shocks are limiting my travel. They are made for 0-1" of lift and I'm pretty sure I have more than that in the rear of my truck.
I'm looking at longer travel fox shocks that are universal stem top, and am wondering about shocks for a Tacoma, or something that will have similar travel specs, but more travel.
I'd love some insight from the experienced crew here.

anybody have some insight on whether 2nd or 3rd gen Tacoma shocks on a 1st gen will work?

thanks @daveeasa I appreciate the info. Have you tried putting them on? I’m looking at the Fox 9.6” travel. You have personal experience with those?

I bought 2 pair of 883-26-007 after confirming with @memario1214 that they are the right choice for 2.5's on 1st gen Tundra.
Then, before installing, I went with an archive garage shock relocate, hammer hangers, crossbar and ubolt flip w bump stops.
So I stuffed the spare pair on my '05. Then I took them off, had accutune revalve and replaced after doing the fronts.
I have the first pair on my 3rd gen Tacoma and if I'm being honest, that truck rides the smoothest of all 3. I think I might benefit from hammer hangers on the '05 but it's so light I think it just jumps around too much. An EV conversion and some batteries back there might help stabilize a bit.

Thanks for the info. That’s really helpful since I can’t seem to find anything specific for our trucks that is more than 1inch lift and doesn’t involve all new leafs, etc. I’m gonna try and get some measurements and make sure those work for me.
