... a way I pictured that a guy we know with a modded 2WD could earn a certain nickname.

Shits getting real now. I still need to buy a jack. I know y'all said bottle jack but how will I know it's tall enough? Can't really fuck up a hilift purchase

4x4 blocks are your friend, even with the OEM jack. That's what I use...

I’m not saying I’ve never used a farm jack, just not on a vehicle. They’re great tools at moving large heavy things.

Everyone here uses em. Wouldn't be my first time either.

Point me in the direction of an affordable jack for a lifted truck if you have a better idea plz

I have one of these, with the intention to be my trail jack, just haven’t figured out where to store it.

Does it go high enough for you? That's the other thing is figuring out a spot for it where it won't move

Honestly the only thing I see bad about the hilift is the amount of elbow grease they require over a bottle jack. If someone uses a hilift in an unsafe spot whether that's on their rig or the trail, that's on them. That's why you get to a flat-ish area and throw the spare tire under the truck and alternate with the blown tire when the time comes. If the truck shifts for some reason you won't die.

I've never had an issue either way. I just need an affordable jack I can buy this week from a store I can walk into. Because I don't think I have time for shipping. I couldn't care less if it's a hilift or a bottle jack. I just need something.

I don't want to bring my floor jack and some 4x4

Do you have a Tractor Supply Co. near you? They have a 3 ton that's high enough. And small, lightweight for this cross-country trip.

They're fairly dangerous in many of the situations you'd think to use one. And it'd be one thing if you practice a bunch to learn how to use it. But now one does. And when you need it, circumstances are never ideal.

Edit: the jack you bring needs to be easy for you to operate solo. On the trip to meet us, and in the years ahead. When we're running trails together, if you need a jack, probably 3 guys will whip out floor jacks, while the rest of us hold impact drivers, socket sets, and cameras. It'll be like a full pit crew experience. Buy whatever you want to but, AND you don't need a high-lift unless you just really want a high lift.

Yeah I was going to check em out Thursday, but I ordered the 3 ton bottle jack stand just a few mins ago. They had me at 21 inches
