Sad. $185 used to be enough to buy quality.

I called my local dealer looking for the oem step, and they said it was showing "discontinued" in their system. Does anyone know if this is true, and if there were problems with the oem step that is being redesigned?

I think what happened was that before the change you had to buy the step and the bracket separately (two different parts numbers) now they are sold as one unit with one part number.

I have the same unit purchased off Amazon- at 200lbs it is super sketchy. The maker said he has a fixed version coming, but if i dont see it next week I am asking for my money back.

I just ordered the bed with the new part number (PT392-34231). I believe the mount is different, and it seemed easier to install than what I have watched on YouTube from the previous version. Paid $265 shipped from Bedford Toyota.

I have the automatic bed step on my 1794 so I realize it's not an apples to apples comparison, but mine is absolutely rock solid. It does not move one bit when I step on it and I'm about 230lbs.
