Want everyone to know we’re working with the US Forest Service to track availability of the site for us. We’re keeping alternate locations in our back pocket in partnership with USFS.
If they deem the site unusable due to potential damage to the area, we will relocate to another location. Our primary concern is the environmental impacts of a large number of trucks and people on the fragile ground when it’s soaked.

Yes, we know some people love to play in the mud, but this isn’t the place for that.

The dates will remain the same.

Announcements and communications will follow as needed through all available channels including posts here, emails to registered guests, website updates, Instagram and Facebook threads.

We’re hopeful the next couple weeks will dry it out effectively.

FWIW Cali-Raised sells a harness for pod/pillar lights. That’s what I’ve got for my chase lights. It comes with this adhesive-backed push button switch that connects to the harness with a tiny 3 pin connector.

So what happens if they decide we're going to hurt the environment? Do we just keep truckin til we reach that other wheeling site I've heard y'all mention before closer to CA at the bottom of AZ?
Because I've said it before and I'll say it again, if I make it to the west coast, I might not come back.

They'll move us to a different area within the wider environment. I don't know where though.

FWIW, I just found out about this thingy today and I'm contemplating trying to go to it if the stars align (take boys and dog, go camping, presumably just boys so I can take the Tundra)

    https://overlandadventurerallies.com/nwor-faq/

Just in case the San G / T2S stuff is just too impossible with all the climate changes and extreme weather which has become sort of normal. Not that NWOR would be immune to crazy weather either though, but desert seems to be a bigger risk on flooding and fires to me, part of the reason for moving north (not a major driving factor but it was there in the back of our minds).

I'm not sure. I haven't heard a specific alternate location discussed yet-- only that T2S organizers and forestry have one in mind. But it would likely be someplace drier in the event this camp remains muddy.

It didn't have anything to do with T2S. It was some spot like on the southern border of CA and AZ. @des2mtn probably remembers

Nope, please bring the boys down this a way. All these 1st gen fellas travelin' west from Texas and parts yonder, cain't be driving up the whole left side of the country to where it's even more soaked.

Can you sneak out of there, and meet us in Arizona though-?

San G is San Gorgonio Mountain. That's the "back (east) side" of Big Bear, CA. We do that the last open weekend of San Gregorio campground, in September.

I used a switch like that for dads lightbar. Didnt stick it anywhere, but used a bungee kinda cable and he sets it in the seat next to him so he can quickdraw the off button when oncoming traffic shows up.

It's just about an impossibility, taking them out of school to do a massive drive, especially just a few days after our trip to Palm Desert where they will already miss a few days of school. It'll be a bummer to be semi close ish in time and space but have no chance to bridge the gap, but hey, they won't be this age forever, and the truck inches towards more capable with time (at least I can delude myself of that).

Now that we 1st gen homies have fallen in love, we're moving to quarterly meets. :D Callin' 'em reunions so our families and employers grant us dispensation to attend.

Oh, and @Sunnier I got both my mirrors on finally. Haven't de-pinned and re-pinned yet. And, tbh the D cover isn't as nice as I'd like but oh well. They both have heated glass which will be very helpful once I do the heater kit and wire it all up. This up here is the land of heated mirrors, almost which I had them on auto w wipers.

Nope. There are several mountains with this name. But a search near El Centro, CA will show you how "freeway accessible" this will be once your work-from-home lifestyle kicks off.
