My 2011 CM had gobs of throttle response. I had to learn how to feather the pedal because it would throw your head back if you leaned on the pedal just a touch too quickly off the start. I loved it. My 2015 accelerator was so dialed back I felt like I should be wearing a hockey helmet and mittens too. The 2021 was driven by someone that worked at the dealership. Drove it for a year or so, put 4k miles on it and put it back on the lot. While he had it, he put one of those pedal commanders in it. I've had the truck for a week and had it off the whole time. Today, while waiting at a red light, I turned it on, set it to "sport+" and turned it up to "+4".
Light turned green, I hit the accelerator like normal and the drive wheel broke free, screeched a bit and I shot out of the hole like a punk. The guy in the old Chevy next to me probably thought I was showing off or trying to race.
Anyway, I was gonna pull the stupid thing out, assuming it was useless. I think I'll leave it in :)

Try Sport+2, that's the sweet spot my truck loves best.

I clearly don't jump on here enough! I just returned from a "Beast Mode" road test....Wow! That is pretty cool and definitely wakes up the truck!

This "Beast Mode" certainly makes me smile as I'm still pissed about Wilson throwing the INT! Give the ball to Beast Mode!!!!

I don't think it was that. The dealer and the general consensus at the time on Tacoma World forums was that it was for emissions, to reduce unburned fuel from going out the pipe.

It really made no sense as a rev match feature. If you were downshifting you'd want to blip the RPMs a little higher. And if you were shifting up, you'd want the RPMs to drop. This did neither. You'd get the RPMs up, then go to shift, pressing in the clutch at the same time as letting off the gas, and the RPMs would just hang where they were prior to letting off the gas, and then they would slowly come down. It sucked.

Pedal commander makes the truck more easy to drive. With the better throttle response it feels like the truck is smaller and more manageable . It feels more safe. Definitely worth it. You can tuck it next to the pedal. Nothing needed for install.
