Long post here, but I just got the X2 power AGM battery and my alternator voltage regulator recently tested bad. I’m ordering the GM diode that I’ve read is needed with AGM batteries, but when I replace alternator should I go with a high output/amp alternator or stock? Also should I upgrade big 3 wires? I have subs/amp installed, and Viper remote start/alarm.

You might not "need" it, but I have the high output alternator. I would suggest doing the wiring upgrade as well...I haven't done the big 3/4 wiring yet, but will soon. I'm also running amp/subs/etc.

Here is a link to someone that has done it, with detailed instructions and pics:

Do you have an AGM battery? What alternator are you using?

Awesome, thanks! Last question, did you add in the diode fuse or does the H/O alternator properly charge the battery?

I added the diode fuse, but that was before I upgraded the alternator.

Ok I lied, one more question. Did you use the GM diode or something else?
