He was actually very conservative in his personality for the most part, but he used to drive for GI trucking way back when.... So, he was a bit particular and almost OCD about driving.

Another funny story... I get my learner's permit, and that next weekend (we were living in Sacramento at the time) he throws me in the driver's seat of the tuna boat, and directs me to what ends up being Hwy 50 toward Tahoe For those that don't know, at that time and still in some areas it's a freakin' twisty windy 2-lane hwy that I had no business driving on.

Mom was riding in the back seat. She was pissed and started yelling at my dad that we were going to get into a head on going up that Hwy, and he just tells her, "He's gotta learn some time".

I'm pretty sure I almost died several times that day!!!!!

I grew up in a Chevy family. I swear GM had a sub-brand that’s only referred to internally called ChitBox. They run the design team like a high school shop class.

“Okay, listen up everyone. Johnny, sit the fuck down. You have the semester to design a new car from the parts bin behind you. There are grinders and band saws at your disposal. It is not required to color-match dash components, but bonus points will be rewarded if you can use the same knob more than 6 times.”

 

Ugh, awake early again after some crazy dreams. Got a 500 mile trip ahead of me today…this is not a good start to the day!

 

My wife's experience with her $900 Chevy Cavalier is the reason she won't consider a new GM now.

 

My dad was a GM guy until his 1984 S10 Blazer. Now he only buys Japanese or Korean.

 

My buddy's 1st car was a 1st gen Cavalier (cream white two door). His dad said that if he killed it, he could shop for his own car. The only requirement was regular oil changes. My buddy tried...believe me, but he failed.

 

Another buddy had tan 86 nova hatch. It's only redeeming quality was it was a rebadged toyota.

We used to offer to get out and push at every hill.

I’ve been coffee’n for a few days now. That might be part of the problem. Diet is another. My ass sounds like a clapped out ‘92 Accord with 12” subs in the trunk.

I’ll be managing my caffeine the whole way home.
