Dude... I remember my Dad trying to explain to my Mom that when she's driving and starting up a hill in that thing, that it's better to hammer that 4 banger, let the engine downshift and scream like hell as it's trying to maintain speed (it never did)... than it was to let it drop from fwy speeds to 35-40 going up an incline

Seriously, WTF was he thinking buying that damn thing??? I don't how many times he almost killed us trying to pass MFs on 2 lane Hwys...

He was actually very conservative in his personality for the most part, but he used to drive for GI trucking way back when.... So, he was a bit particular and almost OCD about driving.

Another funny story... I get my learner's permit, and that next weekend (we were living in Sacramento at the time) he throws me in the driver's seat of the tuna boat, and directs me to what ends up being Hwy 50 toward Tahoe For those that don't know, at that time and still in some areas it's a freakin' twisty windy 2-lane hwy that I had no business driving on.

Mom was riding in the back seat. She was pissed and started yelling at my dad that we were going to get into a head on going up that Hwy, and he just tells her, "He's gotta learn some time".

I'm pretty sure I almost died several times that day!!!!!

I grew up in a Chevy family. I swear GM had a sub-brand that’s only referred to internally called ChitBox. They run the design team like a high school shop class.

Ugh, awake early again after some crazy dreams. Got a 500 mile trip ahead of me today…this is not a good start to the day!

 

My wife's experience with her $900 Chevy Cavalier is the reason she won't consider a new GM now.
