What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Thought the whole point of listing a phone number in an advertisement was to be contacted and hired. This seems like an awesome place for advertisement for those in the area, free too. Just saying. LoL

Not hard to find me if you're in my area though. So far I've seen one guy in my area on here and he's a contractor.

 

Installed spotter mirror lenses both sides. Super easy install. Factory lenses are marginally heavier.

Now I can see my rear tires when backing up without becoming a gymnast.

Will probably offer up the old (heated w/BSD) lenses eventually.

 

Got a dirty deeds resonator from a fellow forum member that was delivered today. Great deal for me, now just need to install on a nice day.

 

At 30k I changed fluids in the rear diff, and transfer case. I did an oil change and installed a new engine air filter. I hope to get the front diff fluid changed this weekend and a tire rotation. Rear diff fluid did not look healthy like others have said.

 

Washed and waxed. Still shines good.

 

I totally agree. Seeing the back tires when backing up is so much easier now.

 

If you want to upgrade your front differential drain plug, I've got a spare Kaon I can ship tomorrow (I'm in MN so you wouldn't have to wait the usual international shipping delay.)

The latest mod. It has been awhile. Tundra tow mirrors purchased off of eBay from KCMotors. A bit bummed that I lost the matching color caps, but the black blends in.

 

Here is the final finish. I would think it would turn out better if done by a professional. I think anyone at home could've done it. The tech had to remove all the door panel to better wrap it while it's laid out. Rear passenger door came out nice 99% cover. The other three 97% cover. The edge was cut short exposing the silver panel. At least there is no crease when I did it. Once I got home, I inspected all the doors, to realize the rear passenger door was missing 6 clips! He must to have broken or misplaced them. They could've been honest about it and let me know. So super ticked! I drove to my local Toyota dealership and picked up extra door clips. Fellas, this silver panel on the door is not a big deal, but if you're gonna do what I did, either paint or wrap it yourself before letting someone else touch your door.

The power mirror switch works wonders when needed. Not sure about other models but the Platinum will put the mirrors in whatever position (up and down movement only) you set it for when you put it in reverse. When I backup both mirrors tilt down and I can see my tires contact point with the ground. The mirror switch has to be in the on position but not in the center position. That is cheaper than those mirrors and still have heat

I could be mistaken but I'm pretty sure that is a Platinum only feature.

My wife's Yukon has that feature and I never really cared for personally

Another use for the spotter mirror would be for someone who wants a little extra visibility when towing but doesn't want or can't have (fitting into garages and such) towing mirrors.

 

That feature is in the platinum and 1794 trims only. There is a separate ECU in each door that it’ Is tied into the seat position memory system that sets that. Also, the mirror switch in those trucks is a completely different connector setup and pinout than the rest of the trucks.

 

The SR5 doesn't auto adjust mirrors based on gear selection and there is no driver memory. Also, they don't tilt far enough down to see tires.

But def a good upgrade. I got the turn signal version.

 

I had podiums before these and like how much more low profile they are. Not as convenient for being actual steps and still very usable. My last truck had the full width RB10 and the fit closer to the truck but also stuck out further. I think if these were any closer you’d only be using your toes on the step.

 

Ordered a Leer bed cap for it. Soon it will be an old man truck.
