I'm wondering if I will be able to haul/tow cars with a connected trailer? Does not have a tow button option but is the SR5 trim. I will also be doing landscaping as well and will be needing to haul Sod which weighs around 3,000 lbs per pallet. Can my Tundra withstand the weight? Also, the truck is leveled as well.

3k lbs I would think is a bit much if youre talking haul in the bed. At the very minimum I would install helper springs or air bags.

3k lbs on a trailer I would think would be no problem at all. Tongue weight can't be much at all. I mean heck, it's like towing a Nissan Versa.

Yes I will be purchasing a trailer for the truck I will not put anything in the bed. I just didn't know if the transmissions was strong enough to haul.

From what I understand, the Toyota 6 speed trans is about as bulletproof as you can get. IMO, you would be perfectly fine. I'm sure others with far more knowledge than I will chime in.

One thing, 2016 should still have the trans cooler installed from the factory, that's a good thing. But verify that it does, and if it don't, I would highly recommend getting one.

somewhere around 2019 they stopped including the tranny cooler.

Look at the towing able on your driver's side door. It should tell you the tow capacity. On a 4.6 (4.7) I think the max towing capacity is like 6-7k lbs. So that's what the truck is made for so that's what it will safely tow. The 6 speed transmission is the same used on the 5.7's which can safely two up to 11k.so you should be good at 3-4k.

Probably a lot easier than hauling/towing cars with a disconnected trailer.
