Some of my controlled indoor activities. I’ve told Erik, I’ve still got a lot to learn and better technique, but I get by.

yeah, the gas shield doesn't work if it's windy at all. It would be ideal for @alb1k because he's in a garage. I have the setup to run gas but I do most all my welding outside so I always run flux-core. It's fairly simple to convert, on my rig at least.

Is it gonna look weird, seeing the progression of welding from one side to the other?

On my machine, IIRC you've gotta swap the two main wires going to the gun, and connect/disconnect the switch to power the gas solenoid. I guess you're supposed to change the feeding wire inner housing as well since flux core is a thicker wire, but I didn't when I ran gas before and it was fine

That's all I ever do, change the wire and swap the + and -. I've never changed any housing.

Na, you need to swap the gun and ground wires too.

My Lincoln 175HD WeldPak required reversing the wires when adding gas.

There were some adjustments for the smaller diameter wire also.

    Attaboy.
I bought my Lincoln set up for flux-core, and later bought a tank and the Lincoln 'convert-to-mig' kit. The kit came with the wire guide housing or whateverthefuck it's called. Seemed like an unnecessary hassle so its still in the package (13 years later)

I wonder if the Rock Auto shipping dept. recognizes your name, and packs your stuff with extra care.....IIRC you've gotten some messed up junk from them before, right? Don't think I've seen boxes in such pristine condition anywhere...ever...

I mean, the last incident with the alternator getting trashed was 1,000% FedEx's fault, not RockAuto's. RockAuto always double-boxes things for me, which is exactly what they did with these two. You're just seeing the inner boxes on this one, not the outer, which was actually in fair shape.

I'm pretty confident on this one. I've been a RockAuto shopper for at least 20 years. Earliest order I could find in my email was 15 years ago, but I'm sure if I dug thru my work emails, I could probably find even some orders farther back. As is evidenced in that order, I was a loyal Moog fan back in the day, until they started outsourcing and their QC tanked.

I should share the doorbell video of FedEx driver throwing this headlight box on my porch from about 10-15' away. They are such a f'n joke, man.

By the way, speaking of Parts, I got a notification an '02 popped up in a yard about 20-30 minutes away. And with that came a coupon.

If anyone has a Pull-A-Part near them and wants a 10% off coupon, this expires in 3 months, have fun!:

bored out of my gourd at work, my coworker is out for the day leaving me to babysit the new guy, wish I could trust him enough to run out to the truck and swap my swaybar end links.....lord knows the wife won't stand for me tinkering after the 5 day evolution that the cam seals turned into .......Holy shit I missed a bunch on this thread. @Tundra2 sounds like you need some herd culling in your part of the woods  bow.jpg

Shipping is hit or miss for me. These lights took almost a week (5-6 days) to get here. All depends on how they ship.

I rarely get things from RA in 3 days or less unless it's small stuff.

Might have some thing resembling a rack today. Need some longer bolts at the moment, however.
