A possible scenario that comes to mind is riot crowd control. Get people subdued and zip tied (cuffed) as quickly as possible and then you can sort it out.

I can make a pretty good steak, but I’m never going to attempt making any sushi.

I'm going to say two cups of chopped carrots with an amazing pile of herbs, a delicious sauce and goat cheese. All the food tasted amazing...the meat lamb meat balls were amazing...but we got 6 for that $29 price.

We ate at the bar. If I was into dudes, I wouldn't pick the bartender for 2am take-home. Ever.

There's a good sushi joint right next door too. The wife and I discussed how well we could have eaten there and still saved money...lesson learned.

Well, there are rooms in the area. They are just super expensive. $150-200 per room more than what I’m paying.

I said bait bucket, not the fish cooler...

No such thing as good sushi. LOL. I actually don't eat seafood at all though, so there's that.

I've proven my point to The Woman, who is half Japanese and a sushi fanatic btw, that sushi is just bait. I brought some of her left over sushi out fishing, stuck it on a hook and landed a 4lb rainbow trout.

I guess I can see $18 for that. The goat cheese would rack the price up.

Deduct 10% of the tip for an unattractive bartender. :D

Think of what you make for overtime (I know salary complicates things, but we all have an idea) and that is what you have agreed to sell our personal time for to our employers. That means that at a minimum you value your time at that rate per hour. Now you are an hour away from your destination, so 2 hours per direction. That's two hours at your overtime pay rate. Are you actually saving money if you value your time this way?

I have the superior taste buds of Esox lucius, which I have caught on a piece of steak. :D

But they have a preference for steak. I've conducted extensive testing on this.

Sure, but you won't even eat the sushi. You do not share their taste. You have worse taste, because they will eat both. :p

On a serious note, I've never caught a pike, but I heard they like mouse lures. Have you used one?

Yep. I'll sometimes use deer hair mouse patterns when I fly fish for pike. Frog imitations work good too. My friend actually tied a pattern that looked like a duckling and landed a 45" pike a few years ago. Pike are voracious ambush predators. If they think something will make a sizeable meal, they'll crush it.

They often hit like freight trains. The rest of the fight is more of a tug-of-war, but the strike can be wild especially on top water lures or flies.

Going to try and get to some tiger muskie in northern Wyoming this summer with a buddy. I'll have to try and remember to get pics if we catch anything.

My destination tomorrow is 5hrs from here. I'm traveling 4 hours today. Then I'm headed a completely different direction, so there's no "savings". I'm headed the same direction no matter what.

I’ve done Amtrak Empire Builder coach between Chicago and N Idaho probably 6 times each direction, and the Amtrak Cascades between Portland and Seattle at least a dozen. A few years ago, We took the kids from Portland to Chicago in the sleeper car on the Empire Builder - that was pretty cool. We’re talking about doing Chicago to San Fran (the California Zephyr) and then the Coast Starlight from San Fran up to Portland one of these days.

doing the sleeper car isn’t cheap, but it includes meals and a concierge - it’s considered “first class” for the train world.

What I meant was that the cheaper hotel may not be worth the extra time to get there. Granted, you're cruising in the luxury of a Pro Tundra, so it's not necessarily a terrible experience.

Would you mind sharing the price? I'd have to have a better destination than the hell holes of Chicago and Portland to consider it, but I'm still curious.
