Installed a startx remote start module on my truck and think it possibly shorted something in my charging system because I have the “brake” the “slip” the “airbag man” and the “abs” lights on the dash. The truck has to be jump started. Also radio doesn’t power on, truck will not shift from park and the auto headlight feature doesn’t work. Please help!! This is my daily and I have to go back to work on Monday!

Check all the fuses under the dash (more likely) as well as the main fuse box under the hood.

Look up above the kick panel by your left foot with a flashlight. It’s a smaller fuse box, maybe 2”x8” or so if I recall. You have to remove the cover and work basically upside down. It’s a pain.

Check actual pins in connectors on the start x wiring sometimes they get bent, and when plugging in it will cause all kinds of weirdness. Have installed a few start x systems in a few different vehicles.

I’ll check all the wires. I pulled it out of the system. @silvr17 it was the AM1 fuse in the panel under the dash that was blown. I changed it out and lights are gone and system is charging now. Thank you for all help.

Pretty sure that’s a key ignition fuse… did that fix all your issues?

Does this kit kill the engine when you open the door?

I imagine that's a security feature, it stays running when you open the drive door though?

Nope! At least not through 2017. Maybe the later years, not sure that’s avoidable on 18 or 19+.

It's the push start models 2020+ that can't work around the shut-off-when-opening-door "feature." 2018 and 19 are fine for that, with most aftermarket kits.
