    Hello!

so I made a custom mounting bracket in the engine compartment for my tundra to mount my S pod system because I cannot find anything on the market.

you can mount a switch pros or any blue sea stuff as well, but this bracket was made for my S-pod. All I could see is people were mounting the Spod to the fuse box and that does not make any sense to me.

I designed this mounting bracket to be easily installed with existing holes and can be installed in a couple minutes. The spacing and design allows for a regular ratchet to fit for ease of installment.

I was thinking of maybe throwing this design into a CAD and making some out of aluminum or mild steel if people were interested.

moderators, I hope this is the right spot and my apologies if it’s not.

I thought I would share a solution with a community that I found to be very good for my purpose.
    Thanks!

You’ll need to add a vertical wall to mount the switch pro. It needs to be mounted vertically per their instructions and warranty fyi

Thanks Rey! I totally get it just sayin it’s something I could do.

this mounting bracket was made for Spod, blue sea mbus, battery disconnect in current configuration because I had blue sea stuff already so I could mock up Spod and consider other option for mounting blue sea stuff without remaking the top of bracket and surface area needed. Haha

I drilled holes and put rubber grommets in too.

Picture of the rubbers. Ha ha.

I positioned the rubbers and wires so they dropped in between the brake fluid container and brake lines and then had them turn right so you could mount the wires to fender for a clean look.

A bit late for me as I just finished my electrical setup ~month ago using SDHQ mount & a blue sea mounted on the fuse box.

If I were still in the market & this was switch pro compatible then I'd have totally preferred this option.

So I’ll be working on drawing this up and developing a CAD file soon.

I really like this and have a couple of suggestions. I like things, wires especially, to be hidden as much as possible.

I did my best MS paint to your picture and the results are outstanding LOL.

Could you add another small filler plate to the front and sides, those are in yellow. Along the back radius cut the edges to prevent a sharp corner, those are in blue. Just a suggestion, I like it a lot man! Let me know if you ever make them.

Great ideas! Thanks! The corners are smooth and filed down, so no cutting you.

The front you could make a panel to bolt on I suppose but your hands go through the front to bolt down the mounting bracket.

    Keep the feedback coming.

I am in the process of making them now.

I’d love this for a switchbpros with a vertical mounting option, like the flat part to mount blue seas. I hate the ones that mount over the fuse box but that is all I can find anywhere. About to purchase a switch pros but waiting for the right bracket.

SDHQ makes a pretty good vertical mount that goes right behind the driver's side headlight - that's what I went with. Only downside is that you'll probably need to run jumpers for some of your accessories because it's mounted so far forward.

i was looking at that one, but that only provides a mount for the switch pro it's self. Still need a place to secure the connections from the lead wires to a terminal block and have the accessories come in on the other side. Not a fan of having the wires just soldered together that i've seen some people do. How did you attach your accessories to the switch pro leads?

Can definitely be done. I agree the mounting over box is unacceptable to me and makes no sense. I see it’s easier to do but that’s why I’m tryin to make something that works and fits.

Let me know if you end up making something for switchpros, i'd certainly buy one. I've got about 14 weeks before my bumper gets here so not in a rush.

I just soldered directly to the leads. I was originally going to add a terminal screw connector junction to my overland expedition tray that sits on top of my fuses, but the soldered leads just seemed way more robust/reliable after doing them that way.

So then how are they secured? Just zip tied to the frame or a mounting point? Would love to see a picture of it, I’m just trying to imagine how to make it look clean with wires coming from every different direction

Yeah, mostly just routed and secured to the frame with zipties. The only real difference is you have a mounting point at the connection with a screw connector, but I still think a soldered/covered joint is more robust (IMO). That said, it definitely isn't super instagram worthy or anything.

I'll snap a pic the next time I'm in the hood and post it!
