Well my real world experience differs from yours with ownership of a '22 Capstone. Which was replaced with a '23 Raptor, so yes a gas burner but a TT V6

A tremor with the torsen diff and hi-lock t-case is a very appealing option. And the factory 3.73 gears are a semi big deal if you wanna run larger tires. The Tundra's 3.31's with the ultra tall 10th in the transmission and 35's or 37's seems like a lot to ask the engine to twist.

Here's something not funny at all I learned 3 months after taking delivery of my '23 Raptor. The Torsen diff has been removed from all '23 F-150's including the Raptor R and all sub models. The Raptor R power is too great for the Torsen diff so they engineered an electronic braking function to act in a similar matter on pavement, and as a cost cutting measure applied it to all '23's, with no mention of it anywhere. Just recently came out in a discussion with Ford Performance. Talk about a bait and switch. We all know the mechanical Torsen diff is superior but they won't ever say that aloud.

That’s just a red flag IMO, lol

I know it disappeared from the Raptor but the Tremor build and price page still shows it as an option.

Still though, the 3.73's and hi-lock t-case are still pretty worthwhile.

Doesnt the STI have a front torsen too?

I had a 2007 Legacy GT Spec B with the rear torsen but my 6 speed didnt have the DCCD, just a dumb LSD.

I have the best chance of driving as many miles as I want and never having any issues with this truck. I’m not saying everything else is unreliable, but if this is your metric (as it is mine), it outperforms everyone else.

My current vehicle 2018 F150 Lariat is at 45k and I'm looking to move on. Ford mechanics are really good/service dept not so much.
Never a loaner car despite what they tell you @ Ford!
Lots of issues But not serviceable until failure, so lots of my time wasted knowing there is a problem hence my avatar "Fingers crossed"!
The XLT's are now over 60K and that's just nuts. Look at the window sticker and options removed due to chip shortage-I think Toyota
has the upper hand as my 2018 502A package was 63k msrp (no adp cruise) now look and cloth seats!!!

    https://shop.ford.com/inventory/f15...F24-XLT&Order=Distance&fromPopularBuild=false

Toyotas hybrid with battery inboard really messes up the storage as others have mentioned, But Fords us a smaller fuel tank because of there set up vs Toyota being in board its easier to maintain battery temperature-temp is everything with the hybrid batteries and still a 32 gal tank.

Hoping I can get the wife to back me up for a Platinum Blueprint blue with advance package (when they start coming in). When she sees the BLUE ambient lighting vs the ford ICE I think she'll bit!

If I had a dollar for every time a Toyota person said they want a flat floor in the back of a Tundra.....
Toyota is not listening they don't care. Hey Toyota - Back Seat Delete on DC.

I am a sucker for big discounts if a deal. But it is all relative.
    i.e.
For my Tundra in 2018 here is the ad and it was a 10 plus year purchase.
Dealer had snagged 10 Tundras headed to the middle east and cleared them at the end of the month to make his numbers.
For the 2023 Ram I am flipping within 3 years.

I've said multiple times that I don't care about the non-flat rear floor. It's not like I sleep on it. I still haul loads of stuff in the back of my cab. Hunting gear, rifles, kids, baseball bags, our dog, tools. And it's nice to throw power tools and batteries in one of the footwells and know they're not going to slide around on me. I guess for that mythical Tundra driver with a third child who is 6'5" tall and has to have their feet up on the hump in the middle seat, it's a real problem. Lol.

I do wish the crewmax came with underwear storage similar to Ford. I took care of that with an ESP long box. These trucks only win in one category, but that category happens to be just about the only thing you can’t upgrade—dependability.

Regarding your 2018 purchase, that'll make one weep. That seems like a lifetime ago. Totally different market. The Tundra had a mere sliver of market share. No one wanted them new compared to the big three. Yet they held onto their value far better than the rest once some miles were put on them and the warranty was up.

The deal he got on his Tundra was pretty normal for an F150 and other big three half tons before 2020. I got my 2014 F150 for 42k with an MSRP near 57k.

So if that deal on his Tundra was spectacular, then I would think that their resale would be higher. If a normal person would have bought that same truck for 50k instead of 41k then the used prices would probably also be inflated too.

    @mass-hole @Terndrerrr

The dealer made $500 on each truck. That tells you the crazy profit baked into pickups.
The F150 is Ford's golden egg. Regular cars are like $6-7k profit.

So 10 came in, I saw the ad and by the time I got in there (2 hrs later?) - 3 were left.
Was offered $54k for it last February in a trade in.

I wanted a double cab but could not pass up this deal and have grown to love the rear window utility.
Always had that in the 4runners I owned.

I don’t think it was an atypical deal for the time. Atypical for now, unless you’re a Ram buyer apparently.

My point is the hyb system does nothing for highway mpg's so why limit fuel tank size. Toyota at least keeps it the same across the board.

    30.6 per the web site:
    "Engine Fuel tank capacity, gallons (dependent on cab and box configuration) 3.3-liter Ti-VCT 23 gallons, 26 gallons, 36 gallons* 2.7-liter EcoBoost 23 gallons, 26 gallons, 36 gallons* 3.5-liter EcoBoost 23 gallons, 26 gallons, 36 gallons* 5.0-liter V8 23 gallons, 26 gallons, 36 gallons* 3.0-liter Power Stroke 26 gallons 3.5-liter PowerBoost™ 30.6 gallons"
