I am getting ready to install my thinkware U1000 dash cam and was wondering if anyone else out there has installed one on their tundra.

If you have one of these installed without their additional radar unit, and you have it wired to your fuse box ,How long is it recording for you in park mode before it turns itself off.

I believe Thinkware advertises 6-8 hours , but since our Truck batteries are bigger maybe we would get longer recording times while its parked?

Im Just trying to determine if I need one of their external batteries to get 10-15hours of overnight parking

I installed the Thinkware U1000 about 3 weeks ago but I also installed Blackboxmycar BI-750 battery to insure that it could handle parking mode. I would recommend the external battery so that you don't kill your truck battery.

Thanks for the reply , even though the Blackboxmycar BI-750 was made for dash cams (but costing $400) , I think id consider adding a second battery under the hood for $120
