What is this, some type or proportion valve? Is there a good delete?

brake pedal seems low on this truck but the rear brakes were trashed. Still having trouble getting the parking brake to hold but the shoes are well adjusted.

had new front brakes but I can see it’s missing some hardware and the slide pins look rough. Cleaning them up next and replacing hardware it starting to get frustrated …(and I’ve been a mechanic for 20+!)

Load sensing proportional valve (LSPV). Controls the amount of brake pressure the rear brakes get depending on the load in the bed.

There's a bleeder on it, to properly bleed the brakes you have to bleed it. Bleed the system in the following order:

    Passenger rear
    LSPV
    Driver rear
    Passenger front
    Driver front

Appreciate the quick feedback my friend. Will hit that next, in the correct order!

If your parking brake is not working well, I can say with high confidence, your drums are NOT well adjusted. It's harder than most people think to do this right and the parking brake is integral to the entire braking system so if its not right, other things are likely not to be either.

Check out this page. This is a common problem.
