So it was driving fine when I bought it. You could feel the steering wheel pulsing when I accelerated. It still does it that but now the steering wheel shakes, I had the tires rotated and balanced but it still shakes. Next step from reading would be the carrier bearing I’ll link a video I was using my knee to pushing up. Would that be the cause the of mild pulsing when accelerating also? The actual shaking is pretty noticeable at 70ish

    TIA, Cesar

also roads are pretty crappy and the tundra feels every bump so that doesn’t help much makes it even worse sometimes my head hurts from all the bumps and shaking lol maybe needs shocks also?

I think you should be looking at the you should be looking at the front diff, the driver side axle. Its also referred to as a carrier. eastcoastgearsupply.com makes a replacement bushing for the needle bearings that correct that issue. But you may also need to replace the driver side aswell if the snub shaft if all scored up from the needle bearing.

Is that normally movement for the carrier bearing? I had to use my knee to move it since I had to use one hand to record. I can’t really move it with one hand but I could with 2. Also looks like the u joints had been replaced at some point they have grease able fittings not sure when tho

Yea that does not look excessive. I have never actually need a bearing in those go bad. They just end up sagging and throwing the alignment off a bit more so on the Tacoma's. . But yours appears to be normal still. I believe the earlier year tundra's do have greable u-joints im not sure what year yours is.

Mine is 2016, could a wheel bearing be the cause maybe? Or maybe just other suspension parts? Also I’m glad that that looks normally didn’t wanna take the whole drive shafts off at that point i woulda replace all the u joints too wasnt look forward to it haha

A good test to rule out the front differential is to drive the truck in town around 35mph, in 2wd, cruising. You will hear a cyclical whirring noise up front(soft groan that comes and goes), as soon as you switch to 4wd it goes away. You sound like you have a balance issue with tires yet(cupped/out of round) or bent wheel (might need to have balanced with road force machine), or possibly a caliper/pad issue.
