Hey everyone, me again..am I annoying anyone yet??

Wanted to thank you all again for your help and feedback on these posts. Found another Tundra that looks promising. What do you all think - pictures below. The underbody is a little dirty fyi.

Also I know it may seem like I'm spam posting pictures from every Tundra I see, but I do have a process that I am following for this purchase and am only posting frame pictures for trucks that fit everything in my buy box -- up to the frame. I am trying to be as meaningful as possible in my search. With that said, you all have saved me from purchasing others that have had serious frame issues and I'm extremely grateful for that haha. Let me know what you think about this one. Thanks!

Looks good to me. Frame was obviously replaced. One of the pics of the left frame rail, it that reddish dirt on it?

Otherwise nothing jumps out as being an issue. What’s the fluid in the master cylinder? Doesn’t look like brake fluid; it’s pretty dark.

Agreed, that one’s in better shape than mine. Has either been replaced or….painted?

@Jack McCarthy Thanks! I think that could potentially be partly the reflection from the red lift. Good question regarding the brake fluid. I will take a look.

@JasonC. Yea no record of a frame replacement in the Toyota owners portal. I think the owner did paint a portion of it - not the whole thing. However when inspecting I didn't see any bubbling or flaking underneath like the other frames that I've posted on here/doesn't seem like they are trying to hide anything or lipstick on a pig. Appreciate the input!

Looks like what we'd see out of a Colorado truck on here, or at least what I've seen from people in CO who posted their frames.

Light years better than the others. Seriously.

Note there has been some custom wiring done to the truck, as is evidenced on the driver's side of the engine bay.

Likewise, note there is some body rot, see the bubbling in the top of the driver's side wheel well 4th or 5th from the last pic. (link)

I disagree with @Jack McCarthy - had the frame been bad enough to be replaced, there's no way the bed underside would look that pristine.

I'm curious about the straight pipe that's welded in, and ... I don't recognize whatever this plate is welded onto the framerail (see both here)

I'd make sure to test 4HI before committing to buy, or at least get the owner's promise 4HI works.

That body mount in the 4th pic looks to be in really good condition for a used frame. What was the mileage on this truck?

@shifty` Great catch. Thank you for taking a look. The bubbling on the body is definitely something that would need to be addressed.

@Jack McCarthy This one has ~150k miles on it, single owner, spent it’s whole time in pacific NW according to the Carfax/registration. I think the seller painted that body mount or part of it for whatever reason, as other parts of the frame don’t look quite as pristine (but still look pretty good)

Now we're talking. That truck is in much better shape than the others you posted. That wiring in the engine bay and running along the frame rails is likely a 7 pin trailer plug setup. That could be the original frame based on the rest of the pictures and the lack of rusted hardware. How's the rest of the truck now that that's out of the way?

It appears to have a Magnaflow muffler hacked in to the otherwise stock exhaust; can’t tell for sure from those pics but I’m guessing no resonator either.

That welded plate is normal, it’s where the front boxed portion of the frame meets the mid C channel portion.

    Looks pretty clean from here

@KNABORES haha thank you! I'm starting to learn what to look out for. The rest of the truck is in nice shape too. It's the color I was looking for, which is great. I'll post a few pictures here across the next few days.

Looks better than mine. I don't know what the rest of the truck is like, But I'd say that is a solid frame at least.

Super solid frame, and I'd second (or third, forth?) that it's original. With frame swaps, you always see rust on the underside of the bed, on brake parts, and other places. The bed looks pristine as does the rear cross member over the spare -- that's very unusual. Nice find.
If the price is right, buy that truck!
