I've slowly started to build my 2022 Tundra Hybrid, and figured I might as well start a build thread to update as I go...

Ultimately, building it to do some overlanding, as well as to tow our camper trailer to some out of the way destinations.

    So far:

    1) miscellaneous Toyota accessories (OEM tonneau cover, bed mat, & center console safe)

    2) dechromed (except for mustache, for the time being)

    3) installed TRD lift kit (installed myself, in my garage - and that was an adventure! First time dealing with or replacing CVs, and I did manage to damage one of the axle oil seals while removing the driver's side, so truck had to sit while I waited for a replacement to come in at my local dealer before fully completing the kit)

    4) body mount chop (anticipating potential rubbing with the 37" BFGs) and pinning back the front fender liners

    5) added Icon 17x8.5 +28 Vector 6s with 37x12.50 BFG KO2s (btw, knowing that these end up coming in just a shade over 35" mounted, I was hoping I might be able to squeeze in a full-sized spare, but I couldn't - it's in the bed, for now)
--NOTE: so far, just have rubbing, at full lock, on the front sway bar. Haven't taken it off road yet to really test, though

    Future plans:

    1) CBI Baja Bumper (on order)

    2) CBI Rock Sliders (on order)

    3) CBI Classic Rear Bumper (probably on order soon - one of my mom's neighbors ran into the back of the truck while it was parked at her house; figure I'll use the money they will be paying to repair the stock bumper toward buying the new bumper)

    4) winch for the front bumper (probably the Badland Apex 12,000lb, because, in spite of being from Harbor Freight, I haven't really heard a bad word about it - and it's way cheaper than Warn)

    5) lights for the front & rear bumpers - TBD, but probably Diode Dynamics - along with some kind of switching system for it

    6) full skid plates - though this is a bit of a quandary, as they all seem to only be made for use without a sway bar drop kit - what is everyone doing about this? (I'd love to see an aftermarket sway bar that clears bigger tires and fits in stock location, but no idea if that will ever come to market) Are some of you deleting your front sway bars? Not sure that would be a great idea for me, as this is my daily driver, and I do tow a camper trailer sometimes.

    7) ??? (TBD)

Ordered the door handles through Sparks Parts with the forum discount, and ordered the OEM black window trim, badge overlays, and tailgate handle from the online store for a local Toyota dealer (that way saved a bunch off of the list price they quote at the parts counter). Installed everything myself after watching a plethora of YouTube videos. And used the OEM parts thread here to find all of the part numbers :)

Minor update: swapped out the Limited badges for black metal TRD badges that I found at my local dealer's parts department. For some reason, the Limited badges have bothered me since I put the overlays on them, and I like the nod to the fact that this is a TRD OR truck (but wasn't a fan of the bedside sticker, so removed it as soon as I got the truck home)

I have the black Tundra letters and the 4x4 with the black overlay - and like the simplicity of that :)

Love the TRD badges. Do you have a part number. I’m with you, I don’t like the Limited w/ the overlay.

Thanks! The dealer just had it marked as “TRDMEB” - but not sure that it’s from Toyota - it might be aftermarket. They were only $12.95 each

Have you any experience with installing a light bar on your hybrid? I’ve heard that it’s a bit different. Thoughts? Looking for some guidance so I can install my diode light bar and swap to the heritage TRD Grille
