    Hi,
I’ve recently bought an 04 tundra with some issues, but overall a pretty solid truck at this point. There is however some quality of life fixes I’m still looking to do. I recently replaced the driver side door jam, open close button after noticing the interior lights weren’t going on when the door was opened, this fixed the problem. More annoyingly when I go to unlock the driver side door with the key it only opens that door not all 4 doors like the passenger side door does. Also once the driver side door is opened the unlock button only works when I turn the truck on however the lock button always works, any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I want to say to unlock all the doors from the drivers door you have to turn the key twice.

Ok I’ll try that and let you know, but why wouldn’t it unlock with the button on the door without the truck being on seems strange.

The second turn to the right didn’t work. I have a new door actuator coming soon someone suggested that it was only $20 so when I removed the door panel I’ll check the ground.

It's possible. Usually if I need to break up old grease, I'll use PB Blaster. It does a great job of dissolving crusty, hard grease, but it has a powerful smell, so it's not like you want to go nuts with it. It's also a metal preservative.

That said, WD40 is less smelly and will free up gummed up mechanisms. I used to use it for shifters on bikes a lot. Once dried out, I'd follow-up with SuperLube or similar, something not prone to caking, although in a door like, white lithium may work better.
