Has anyone else experienced a front end clunking noise that happens over bumps, but goes away once the truck is warm? It is the most noticeable turning and slowly driving over uneven surfaces. It also does it over speed bumps and any other situation that makes the suspension cycle.

Strangely it all but totally goes away once the truck is totally up to temp and has been running for 15-20 minutes.

I’ve removed my RCI skidplate thinking that could have been it. I also totally removed the swaybar thinking that was it. I can’t get it to make the sound when the truck is stationary by rocking it back and forth or anything.

My only other guesses are it could be shot upper strut mounts/top plates (the rubber part specifically), steering rack bushings, or body mounts. The strut plates make sense as they sit right by the engine and the heat may cause some expansion causing the sound to fade away.

It’s a 2017 with 59k miles on it. I do have Toytec coilovers in the front, which were already installed when I purchased it at 42k miles. I’m not sure how many miles they have on them or if the strut top plates were replaced when they were installed. Anyone had a similar issue before? Thanks!

I've had this happen before and it was my UCA. Came loose. I bought new bolts, washers, and nuts from Toyota and replaced everything (used red loctite). Nothing since.
