Which cryo rotors do folks like? I see Frozen Rotors are a brand but they're like $240 each for the ones I'd pick there.

I don’t recall the brand but I bought them from Dirty Deeds. I think they only sell 1 kind. This was years ago and they were around $200 each.

Just check out the site. I only replaced my fronts so far and the rotors are currently $285 each, or $560 for both fronts. Yeah it’s pricey shit but $999 for all 4 with pads does get a little discount. I didn’t go with the EBC but got the Hawks and have been happy with their life expectancy and low dust levels. Bite was a little better than OEM.

@TRDFerguson was it the EBC yellows that were too dusty for you? I’m eyeing this package as well for when the time comes.

For value-for-the-money, PowerStop brake kits are hard to beat. For the price, might as well get the 4-corner kit that replaces the rotors, calipers, and pads. Their "towing package" brake kit will definitely give you better braking than OEM.

Also, at around $100 for the kit, replace the rubber brake lines at each corner with stainless braided---will give you a firmer brake pedal.

A MotivePower pressure bleeder makes easy work of bleeding your brakes (works better than the vacuum bleeders), just make sure to never run the master cylinder below the "Low" mark when bleeding, else you can get air into the ABS module.

I don't actually put any fluid inside the MP tank, I just use it for building pressure against the fluid in the master cylinder, releasing the reservoir-seal cap after bleeding each wheel to top the master cylinder with fresh brake fluid.

Plus, every few years the brake fluid should be replaced. While you're doing your brakes, a tool like the MP pressure bleeder is an easy way to exchange the fluid by yourself.

funny enough the brakes on my truck far outlast the ones on either of my cars… my rears lasted a bit over 70k and fronts were still quite good when I opted to just swap all 4

I was close to getting a powerstop kit but ended up spending about $80 more and got some Hawk LTS and Centric rotors

I put EBCs on the ex-wife’s car and they performed great but horribly dusty. Ended up switching to some Stoptech pads that were about as good but way less dusty.

We’ve had three Platinum Sequoias, typically, by around 42k-46k they have ate through brake pads and needed rotors.
