I am no mechanic, so I thought I might ask. If i install the AEW aftermarket tow hooks, will that cause isssues with my warranty. It appears as though they bolt on at the sway bar bracket, and I don't know if they would deny a warranty issues related to that because I undid what was there and added these.

If the tow hooks you install cause something to fail then yes they can deny you a warranty repair on the failed part.

thats what i said, the angle is way to low, and marjority of time the person towing you out has higher leverage then that tow point.....

100% Agreed but the other options arent as simple as this one. No cutting and bolt right in?
Best bet for the driver who really needs these is to get a new tough bumper
For the person who wants the feature or looks but may rarely us it bolt on hooks might fit the bill... Price is ok.

lol yes lets design a tow hook at the lowest end of the truck and sunken in a few feet while we are at it

have you even 4 wheeled before??? and gotten stuck, like 99.999% of the time that tow strap is not gonna have a nice lead in angle like the pic, thats literally 2 trucks on even flat level terrain

not sure if you even looked at any of the aftermarket bumpers, either a partial bumper piece that literally replaces that plastic piece with hooks pointing out right in front, or a full on new bumper with you guessed it, tow hooks right in front

lol your funny, I think you the same guy who quoted some other post of mine about the aftermarket blow of valve on gen 3 stating it was 100% user error

a simple bolt on hook is not the same as a full/partial bumper replacement...jesus christ, man. Of course those are going to have better attachment points....thats a given. Not everyone that wheels needs/wants those bumpers and these hooks are not aimed at competing with such setups. Youre taking facts and building your own little story around them...thats not how it works.

And yes, you failed at installing the plates and making the necessary adjustments to get them to work properly. The fact that you didnt think they were loud enough does not mean they dont work. Ive been driving with mine for thousands of miles now, trouble free....not a single engine shutdown. You failed to acknowledge that too....seems like failure is a common theme with you. I'll put another L next to your name.

No i just said the other tow hookounts are better which you literally just agreed.

Also I wasn't the guy who posted that, some other person did, you posted you installed it all wrong, then said it's 100% user error, which if 2 ppl posted up the same issues, I asked for your clarification and you disappeared- since you literally said you had the same issues as the op lol

You didn't read my comment in that post. I literally said I plugged all but one of the vents and it was fine since. He said he drove around with only one plug. Op failed to continue to plug vents until the truck drove fine....yes, installer error. You seem to have a hard on for my posts, so here's another.

I also question the strength of the hook and its ability to handle a tough pull. The tow hook is angled downwards so when there is a pull the force is upwards. The hook is really just held on my a few dinky looking welds. I could easily imagine a situation if there was a hard pull that it would just shear the hook off and be a serious projectile. Most rated recovery points are in-line with the frame and milled out of one piece steel or aluminum but this is welded. I wouldn't trust it and as you mentioned, it's angle is so low that it would destroy the oem bumper. Unfortunately the best option for a recovery point on the Tundra is a aftermarket hybrid bumper.

Is there a simple bumper install that provides tow hooks? I don't want anything heavy or complicated.

And I hope ya'll can get your internet argument settled. I don't have much advice to offer there other that you might can press the keyboard a little harder to get your point across. Very entertaining.

Just order this without the winch. Its not overly pricey and seems to be pretty good option without needing to drop a grand on the other options.

I don’t know but the AFE hooks is something better than nothing. Its priced right too. I won’t ever buy them. Who cares if it rips the owners bumper off. Lol. Its their problem.

Would you guys say that the CBI is a better made option than RC? I think aesthetically the CBI Covert bumper is more pleasing to the eye but I couldn't say how the function is as I have neither of them.

CBI way better option. I would pick that or RC if price and shipping was not an issue.
