I was actually thinking closer to the outboard sensors. Is there a reason other than asthetics that you put them there?

This area was the flatest spot I could find. I'm using the driving combo lens, but someone could easily change to work/ seen lens. My setup works great for me.

I haven't decided on lights yet. DD SS3 Pros (clear flood or fog) seem like the most bang for the buck in the $300 range but BD SS (wide cornering) are a very close second ($/lumen).

I have a pair of cheap Auxbeam under my Silverado that have heald up great for 5+ years, but they are more of a spotlight, and even angled out, don't really cast much side light.

Looks great. If anyone has a similar setup and wants a different light output we sell replacement lenses that can be switched out for different light outputs. This is all achieved through our lights Uservice.

I am a victim of analysis paralysis. I research everything way too much. That said, you guys are super engaged in the forums, and that speaks volumes.

Any ideas on where I can put some amber on the front end for fog? The only option that I can think of is maybe behind the 2 panels in the lower portion of the bumper below the center light bar.

Without cutting into the bumper that location might be the only option. Or you could always replaced the fog lights you have now with our new Squadron SAE lights and a pair of Squadron Sports:monocle:.

Get some flush mount S1 or S2 and cutout the bar portion of the grille on left and right side

always have those side mirrors to mount some pods in….

    :anonymous:

    :sawzall:

seen the grille done around here before but yet to see someone do the mirrors.

Nice. If I replaced the 4 fogs then I would have unused Rigids again lol. I just switched to that Pro grille so that I could make a home for the 4 behind it. :D

Why not just throw amber lenses in the ones behind the grill?

S1 with wide cornering lenses. Did not have to cut any metal behind the bumper. Just drill the holes and mount em up. They’re little, but the output is damned impressive.

Not a bad tailgater deterrent, either.

<Copied from an older post I made about this>

I’ve got S1 flush lights in my OEM rear bumper, and they don’t have any negative effect on my backup camera. Only good things, as I can really see what’s up back there now.

Switching is a hair above average, as I like it two ways. They come on all the time when I shift into reverse, but can also be turned on via aux switch.

To do this, I used a 5-pin relay as follows:

pin 87A: tie into the trailer light plug’s reverse light wire. I believe it is the blue wire in the center of the trailer plug.

pin 30: run this to the lights’ positive leads.

pin 86: run the to ground.

pins 85 & 87: tie these together with a short jumper and then run to your switched power (auxiliary switch).

Wiring this way will keep your aux power completely separated from your OEM lighting circuits. When no power is put to the relay via aux switch, the 87A and 30 pins are connected so your lights are part of the OEM backup lighting circuit. Flip your switch, and the relay swaps over to the 87 and 30 pins being connected. Since it pulls off of 87A, you’re now disconnected from OEM circuits.

Late to the party, but I did this. Wired into the cargo light circuit.

If all you're doing is powering these via the truck's OEM trailer backup light circuit so they come on every time you shift to reverse, I wouldn't buy the full kit with harness. The basic lights come with plugs that you can put your own wires in. takes about a minute and they're good to go. Tap into the blue wire in the center of your 7-pin trailer plug for fused power and your switching. This circuit is intended to power backup lighting on a trailer. You won't need a relay for the tiny load of two S1 lights.

    https://www.bajadesigns.com/products/s1-black-flush-mount-auxiliary-light-pod/?sku=381005

Even if buying two singles, you're close to a hundo less than the "Backup light kit" that has more parts than you're going to need for an install like mine. You could also add a pair of basic upfitter harnesses https://www.bajadesigns.com/products/squadron-s2-s1-upfitter-wiring-harness-universal/?sku=640093 if you want to not make your own with the supplied plugs, but you'll throw out a good amount of the wire!

I'll probably wire them up to my switch pro as I want to use them as chase lights. Hopefully they have ambers.

See my post above, which has a link to the single S1. I think they’re about $130 per.

Look closely at my wiring description if you like the idea of reverse lights all the time, and auxiliary lights with the flip of a switch. I use an sPOD so in the same boat as you with the Switch Pros. The amount of wiring work was stupid easy if that’s something that is interesting. Just need one 5-pin relay.

Looks like the offer the pods with Wide Cornering Amber lenses, but only white in the flush. Assuming you can get a set of new lenses and swap them out. I’m not aware of a lens difference between pod and flush lights.

@Baja Designs, can you confirm if pods and flush mount S1 take the same lens? Can’t tell on the website…

The S1 pods as well as the S1 Flush mounts utilize the same lens. With this said you are able to purchase replacement lenses and switch them out.
