Saw some videos of last years event and it looks like fun and the trails don’t look difficult. Kinda putting the 2023 event on my radar. It’s a 2 days drive for me. Would need to figure out logistics cuz I’m going to Stagecoach in SoCal the weekend before….might just head out from there.

Just wondering how the wheeling is with so many people concentrated in one place. Don’t want to be in an endless conga line just to hit a trail. Anyone else thinking of going?

I was there last year (2022), and it's really congested only when the group photo is taken, but not on the trail. I went out with my group from Thursday to Sunday, we hit the trails two or three times a day on Friday and Saturday, and didn't run into other groups at all. Thursday is quiet and Sunday is the same since people are checking in and leaving. There are harder trails I saw those crawlers went onto, the worst one I went on last year was a level 4, which snapped my CV axle, should have used my winch instead of sending it... It's a tie space for tundra, lots of pinstripes, and trees constantly hit my sides and my tent on top. For those easier trails I ran, I encounter one place where it was slider to slider between trees. It's mostly red clay dirt there, I still have a lot of them stuck on the truck today, under my seats, on the frame...

I will be going this year too, hopefully see you there, your setup is similar to where I want to be at with mine, will be inspiring to see yours in person!! May the 4th be with you lol

I’m not gonna make it, too much going on at work, plus I’ll be at Tundras to Sedona the week prior.

Looks like an interesting event. What is your read on the more tame trails for a more stock truck? I like the idea of getting out and learning some new skills and meeting some folks. However, my truck is still stock suspension.

There are guided trails runs lead by experienced people, also lower level trails can give you tons of fun already. With the stock suspension, if you have some experience and are a good spotter you would do great on those, also learn a lot with driving skills when offroading. We had stock suspension GX and Tacos in my group last year and they all did great on the lower-level trails.

However, there are still a couple of months time, I'd recommend at least upgrading some tires, that will help out a lot!
