I know there's a few on here that are in the same boat as I, having more than our share of issues with the new design and / or just an all around poor experience. It was a challenge to my patience, as getting a reasonable "case manager" wasn't easy. Fast forward a year and I got Toyota to provide me a 10 year/100,000 mile warranty for all the headaches. The paperwork arrived today and shockingly, they made the warranty transferable as well as provided 10 years of roadside assistance.

So, to anyone else having problems, this is certainly an option to ask for. It doesn't take back all the days in the shop, but at least gives a little something back.

Glad to hear this, at least it's something...

Extended warranty price for 10 years / 100k miles is $1545 from our well known contact here. So that's what they paid you for your trouble (not that it's sufficient in any way, but at least a good gesture)

Glad to see the pendulum swinging back in your direction a bit. So much money is being spent on these new trucks (and pretty much everything else in the world these days)... it's frustrating as hell when you're given anything less good quality and even better service for your money.

I hope you reach a point where you're able to enjoy the truck and those frustrations become a thing of the past and are not reoccurring for you down the road.

yeah it may only cost you $1500 but if you have to use it once for anything decent/major it will be worth way more than that $1500.

Good to know Toyota will take care of it's customers when things get dicey. A free extended warranty for 10/100 is sure to provide you with some sense of security.

It wasn't an easy or pleasant task and took a year! Toyota definitely isn't going out of their way to satisfy and/or keep customers. Pretty confident I'm a one and done with this brand.

But, yes, at least I have less of a worry if this truck is still around in 3 years.

A couple coworkers have had issues with new Tacos and had to get a lawyer to send demand letters and threaten legal action to get them to address defects in warranty. Unfortunately Toyo of NA is just another bean counter that only values their bottom line. Seems they have gotten more petty in recent years.
