Anyone have experience towing with the 4.6?
I tow a 3300 lb camper around 30-40 miles at least twice a month but am planning a long trip and am concerned about trans temp, ( I usually tow in s4) but rpm’s are around 2900, will that hurt anything for 150 mile haul?

Does your truck have a tow-haul button? if it does you already have a trans cooler with the tow package

S4 keeps the trans way cooler than in 5th gear, even with higher rpms.

Peak torque is 3400(?). 2900 is close enough. The extra rpm pays back through the water pump (fan & alt speed?).

Might oughtta check the fluid if you're fighting a heavy wind and spurts of traffic. Trans cooler is never a bad idea if you cover it in the cold. Most trans fluid is pretty picky with its temps.

I have 42k on the odometer and will have a drain/fill done between 50-60k,
Truck is rated to tow 6700 lbs and I’m 3000 lbs below, hopefully it will handle it.
This is my first yota ( drove chevys most of my life) but will not buy a vehicle that is unreliable anymore, I love the tundra just wish I would’ve gotten the 5.7
