    It's good
Seems like most mystery boxes end up being old alarm systems.

That's a Hewitt Technologies Secondary Air Injection System (SAIS) bypass module and associated wiring. It's intended to prevent the SAIS system from running on startup for certain conditions either because the system is malfunctioning or as a preventative, before they fail.

    Wynnded, Thank you!

.....I did unplug it, and I'm glad I reconnected it. I hope i didn't mess it up. I tried to start the truck without this, and it would die after a short time idling... after 3 attempts, I plugged it back in, just as it was. The 2nd gen crewmax with 236k has only been in my posession for just a few short years, and it's been a great truck but full of surprises.

No, you didn't mess it up. Sounds like there may be something that may not be working correctly with the SAIS system and that's why the bypass is there.

upload_2023-2-27_10-41-53.jpgthank you, Tundra owners, and Toyota fans alike. this is my first Tundra and I'm already wanting to upgrade to a 2014 or newer.
(Toyota produces fine trucks and you folks make owning an older one a true pleasure. )
