Installed mine yesterday. It looks great and charges surprisingly fast. I do plan to eventually hard wire a USB port under the dash and connect it to that to free up the center console port.
Great product so far. I'm sure you will sell a ton of these.

    That’s great!

Both of you were original waitlist members. Thanks for your guys’ support and patience. I pass along all your guys’ comments and input on the EEF honcho and I think I can speak for him in that he is equally as stoked you guys are happy with the chargers.

Is there an on/off button? My wife’s Camry has the wireless charging pad and you can turn it off. I don’t want my phone charging nonstop when driving.

@Front_Range_Pro I have some questions, I assume that the charging icon on the 14" display works? I haven't been able to get the OEM charge pad to work at all with my Pixel 7 Pro (phone is very picky for wireless charging) and I'm now really considering this now!

And, do you ship to Canada? Sorry, didn't do the check-out on your website!

    Great questions!

The icon in Apple CarPlay run through the iPhone itself. It’s a mirroring software so if the phone is indicating it’s charging, that will reflect in the screen.

The issues you are having with the OEM charging unit is pretty much standard and was the the reason for our charger development.

As for shipping, the answer is most definitely YES! However please keep in mind that there may be extra costs associated with shipping and customs.

    Isn’t the light color backwards?

red light is on when nothing is on it and green light comes in when you add something to charge

Most things are green meaning ready to charge and red meaning charging

not a huge deal but curious

Installed mine today and wired the power to the fuse block under the glove box. Works fantastic, thanks for the hard work. Looks OEM, install was easy with the video, shift knob was the hardest part, phone camera trick worked well.

I installed it per the instructions on the EEF YouTube link except for plugging the USB into the console. Instead, I ran the USB to the passenger side floor board area. It’s evident when you’re installing it. Just route the USB right and down. It pops out by the passenger floor board. I removed the panel below the glove box and that gives access to the fuse block under the right side of the glove box. I removed the 10A spare fuse noted on the fuse box cover and installed a fuse tap. Wired the positive of the fuse tap to the positive of the 12V USB. I wired the negative of the 12V USB outlet to a bare screw to the lower right of the glove box. I had to take the lower right kick panel off. I then plugged the EEF USB cable into the 12V USB outlet and it worked perfectly. I zip tied the wires to some existing wires in the same area.
I basically got the idea from the post below that shows the Fuse Tap product and the 12V USB outlet. I used the exact same ones.

Thanks for posting this - the result would be as close to OEM with everything out of the way = Nice! Does it provide the same amount of power as the console USB port? Also, how do you connect the fuse tap hot to the 12V USB - strip the wires (sorry for the newb questions)??

This provides the same power as the USB console port.

I cut the blue crimp connector from the fuse tap and I cut the wire from the USB port before the in-line fuse (got rid of inline fuse and attached connector). I then stripped about a 1/2" from the end of each wire and connected them with a heat shrink solder connector that I had from a previous project. It is basically something like the green connector out of the pack in the link below:

Maybe switching the red and green wires on the LED would flip the colors?

doenst bother me enough to rewire what they did, just throwing that out there for the consideration of the next batch

it’s kinda universal that green means ready red means charging, this is backwards

I can see it both ways (the LED colors).

Red means OFF - doing nothing but powered and ready
Green means ON - unit is doing something

Many of my pilot lit appliances and electronics are the same way so I didn't lose any sleep over this issue. But yes, my phone equipment is opposite.

    Perfect world:
Blue or Amber = powered and ready to work
    Red = working
Green = connected to phone but phone fully charged.

FYI -- installed Saturday. Took a bit longer than expected, but I did tap in to the fuse block under the glove box, and I agree that the shifter was the most annoying step.

I will say that after two days of driving around with this new charger, there's a night and day difference. My phone battery charge percentage is ACTUALLY higher at my destination; with the OEM charger I would be lucky just to be at the same charge level as when I started.

Bravo guys! Thanks for the time and effort.

Curiosity got the best of me last night, so while I'm waiting for my fuse tap to do my install I switch the red and green wires on the LED. It gave me the OEM charger colors of light green not charging dark green charging.

I see this seems to be a common suggestion amongst some. I’m talking to the product development guy. We are looking into switching the LEDs or finding a factory color option.

I'd just keep it consistent with whatever the oem charger displayed. No need to change it to anything else.

Got my charger installed today, works great. This is what it should have been from the factory!

One tip that may be helpful, when removing the shifter knob, pull the boot down, on the front (meaning the part facing you) driver side of the knob you can feel part of the clip sticking out. Push that towards the driver door while pulling up. Easy peasy.

EEF still developing cool charging solutions.

Dual Charger solution is finally taking shape in prototype form.

Also still trying to figure out a solution for direct plug-in. There are multiple factors affecting the viability of the OEM plug option. I know many people prefer this method. But it is still on the radar. “

I for sure will buy a dual charger that plugs into the existing plugs. And understand that drives up costs, but definitely worth it.

Edit: I'd prepay too, if that helps dev/prod costs

It is important to note that while we are still trying to devise a solution for this, it is still in the R&D phase with heavy emphasis on “research” aspect. Finding/creating the correct plug connector is actually the easiest part of it. EEF loves the challenges of developing solutions but won’t sacrifice quality or safety for an extra USB port.

Speaking personally, for a truck that costs $55k-$75k+, I would want quality products in it and on it. But I just want quality stuff in all my vehicles anyway no matter if it’s my Tundra or my girlfriend’s RAV4

Ideally, we want to make a plug and play dongle that will allow current Qi-Charger customers to upgrade their current cords to a plug as well as offer it for future customers.

Thanks for everyone’s patience on this.
