My 2019 Double cab has 42k miles on it and my front rotors are starting to warp. I tow a 6k camper 5-7 times a year. Most trips are a few hours each direction. What is everyone replacing their factory rotors with? Brake pads still have plenty of material on them, over 50%, but considering changing pads as well.

I've had power stop z36 pads and rotors on my F-150, but after having them for 40k miles they were starting to get small cracks at most of the drilled holes.

Are you down shifting/engine braking? That’s early for brake warping unless it’s like continuous steep descending with the trailer. I think most people recommend the OEM or going to a big brake kit with all new setup if needed.

Centric/Stoptech Cyro treated rotors are where it’s at. They are hard to find right now, but hopefully will be back in stock in the next few months.

I do downshift when towing down steep garages, and make sure I'm not riding the brakes all the way down the hill. I only noticed them being warped after being away for work for a month. My wife drove the truck to work and back 2-3 times in my absence, which is less than a mile away, so I can't imagine it was anything she did

I am running the Z36 Powerstop rotors and pads on my 2017 Tundra. Have towed a heavy camper (7800 lbs) about 8,500 miles and they are doing fine. Important to measure and minimize lateral runout on rotors during install. I use the Permatex #80653 on all brake related locations where lubricant is required - good for rubber & metal contact. Agree with others that important to manage speed, downshift and avoid riding brakes descending long/steep grades. FYI - agree that you should change the pads if you change the rotors.

Pull the rotors and have them resurfaced. Put them back on and get another 42K out out of them.

So I ended up going with EBC smooth rotors and EBC yellow stuff brake pads. Do the front brakes use the metal slide clips? This kit didn't come with any.

I guess I did know that the front calipers were different than a single piston caliper, but haven't really been up close and personal with them enough to know what hardware is used/needed. Now to call the local dealer to see if they have a shim kit, and a anti-rattle clips in case mine decide to be stubborn! Thanks for the video, it will surely speed up my installation time!
