Cat Shield Question

Hi Toyota people,

I am trying to get Cat shield for my 2020 Tundra. Most of the suppliers are selling front and back shields to cover all 4 cat convertors. A local supplier in Texas who is supplies to local Toyota dealers as well that for 2020 4X Tundra you only need front cat shield. The rear ones are resonators and you want them to have good air flow and rear shield is not needed..

What I should do ?

Get https://valhallasshields.com/ front and back or go with the Texas supplier with 1 shield.

Cover all 4. They steal your rears and you are still months without your truck.

Also check out @Talon2006 he tends to be a bit faster at completing orders than Valhalla currently. I have Valhalla shields but have no issues recommending the Talon ones.

The rear are not resonators. They’re catalytic converters which is exactly what thieves want.

I did the front and back Valhalla Shields

 

ditto...I also did the front skid plate they sell.

 

I have the dealer installed shield you refer to, not the Vahalla, and the back cats are a bit exposed. Mine is 4WD and the transfer case blocks some access to one. I think they could probably be cut but it would take more work for the thief.

I put on plates so I wouldn't be without my truck for months. Insurance pays if they get stolen. Front and back for me from Talon.

I ordered from Talons garage a few weeks ago. Ordered the whole deal - engine skid and plates to cover all the cats. For my Tundra and the wife’s 4Runner Ordered on a Monday and had them by 3pm the next day.

 

Even if they were just resonators, they look like cats, and I think it's safe to assume that a person underneath the truck with a Sawzall in the dark isn't going to take a lot of time to inspect it very well.

 

Can you post pics of what you've done? I know folks are always looking for ideas.

I got Talons shields front and back and didn't look back. In stock and shipped super fast

 

Whole 9 yards or worry about the truck. I have Valhalla, no issues.
