Best to have a deposit on the truck before selling yours. Imagine selling yours to find out that one has sold.
Prices are dropping, so sell sooner than later if you can. Clean trucks under 100k I've seen listed around 20k, 150k maybe 11-15k$. 200k+ seems to be $7k-$9k.

    Hey Guys!

I'm in Northern California, by San Francisco, and am looking for a 00'-06' 4x4. Anything besides a DC will work. Although I have my preferences, after a couple months of searching I'm less picky. Needs to be in great-excellent condition, and a price that reflects its mileage/wear.

Would appreciate any leads you guys find. Prefer to drive but am willing to travel

Hey Nick. Best of luck on the search. I’m in Berkeley and bought an 03’ AC with 197k in the north bay for $6,600. It was listed at 8,800 but got it down explaining that I needed to replace to timing belt. It’s in excellent condition. Just sharing this for price reference in our market.

Appreciate the info. That's better than I'd associated as the realistic price range. 2WD?

Love the camper btw. Is it a bel air? I've owned a few and put them on all my trucks

4wd. I feel like I stole it. I'm seeing some solid gen 1s on craigslist for high 9k.

Yesir, Bel Air. Got it from some guy in Sac who ordered it custom and never used it once. Love it. Still have to hook up the electrical which im not looking forward to.

It’s my fathers, located in Port Angelas. I plan to take to Everett in next month, get it detailed and fix power steering leak (doesn’t drip). After that, was thinking of posting for $8500.

Probably a bit far and too average of a find to validate navigating the distance. Still very much appreciate the heads up

If you see any good one's, send them my way! I feel like I've accepted 10k as the baseline for a 200k+ of what I want.

Was it made specifically for a 1st gen? I'm hoping to find a used one, on account of how much they cost new now, but wonder if I'll struggle with the odd sized bed.

I'll keep my eyes open! 10k is reasonable. It would be 16k if it was a tacoma

Yeah the shell was custom made for a first gen tundra AC. man i was looking for a (nice) used callen or belair for yearrrrrsss.

What kind of buildout did you do? any pics? i want something simple and modular so i can still use it for trucky shit

I was ready to make a call!! After further inspection, the frame is a little rusted. Spent most it’s life in Iowa and Missouri. Seems like a nice find but, little high for the rust imo. Good looking though!!

Good eye, yeah I didn't look past the CL pics, but you could see some peeking through in certain engine components and possibly behind the wheel well in one of the CL photos.

Looking around for a 4x4 1st gen tundra. Would prefer an AC although I would buy a DC or RCLB if I came across one for the right price

Located in CA but expanding my search out of state for a better deal. Anyone recommend any sites other than facebook marketplace, craigslist, or offer up? Looking for more options to snoop on :D

CarFax. I've been surprised at the # they have, particularly in the VA/DC area.

I’ve been in the market for about 2 years (always in the market) but actively searching for a late model 1st gen. The asking price for this is flat out disrespectful. Hear me out, the hot early Toyota vehicle almost always require 4x4 to get premium prices. The market has dropped significantly regarding demand (the big spenders are satiated) and this, is a perfect example of greed. It’s a nice vehicle but that’s a 20k vehicle after registration and it’s not 4x4. Regardless what people say, 4x4 can be used in almost any location. It’s like a condom, better to have and not need than to need and not have. I’m sure this is poorly written but, I’m at work and could careless to proof read. (A great way to back my argument I know).

Yep, couldn't agree more. Just posted here for posterity. But then again, even 2WD versions have sold for upper teens/low twenties, see here for a recent example on BaT, a 2006 DC that went for $23.5k.

It's a small dealer. He may have bought it high at the peak & is trying to get out of it above water. Dealerships are going to have some hard times while they carry those bought high cars in a falling prices market.

I would argue that the price of a new truck brings up the value of an older one when in such good shape. New truck prices are still high whether they are 4wd or not. If someone can pay cash for that and it meets their needs, smarter than buying a new one and financing… especially with the best truck motor ever. Three people didn’t think it was greedy and that’s all that matters to the seller.

Man when it rains it pours. Same guy has another one:

    2004 Toyota Tundra “90Kmiles” AC SR5 - $15,900 (San Antonio)
Beautiful two-tone with a matching cap.

Search CraigsList from Austin or NW of there and expand out 500 miles or whatever the max is and then Tundras between 1999-2006. Those two trucks are priced pretty high relative to the rest of the state but they’re both pretty nice. A lot of out-of-state trucks make their way here with all the immigration from other states, so always make them text you undercarriage photos. Even better if you have a picture and say “take this exact picture but on your truck”.

    Edit to add: CraigsList
