Hey, I couldn't find using the search.

I would like to add a rack to my LEER100XQ with factory installed Thule rails

Is anyone running a topper rack that extends/overhangs onto a portion of the cab?

I know most people like the Rhino rack 60 x 54 inches and others around that size, but I found a good deal on a Yakima LocknLoad that is 84 x 62 inches. I think I kind of like the idea of a little overhang, but just wondering if it would look funny.

Anyone running Yakima LocknLoad in general? Thanks and picture for attention!topper.jpg

My truck looks a lot like yours. The cap rack doesn't over-hang onto the cab though and it's not something I need anyhow. I built my own rack for the Leer 100 XR with help from @junior. You can get most of the Prinsu style extruded parts from TNUTS.com and the mounting brackets from https://sherpaequipmentco.com/. Based on the ACAD drawings, I had a metal shop build the side rails and powder coat for me. Seems you could simply raise the mounting bracket height and lengthen the rack side plates/add more cross-members if you wanted to over-hang onto the cab a bit. Best of luck.

I toyed with the idea of 6ft side rails on my custom designed one @Badknees mentioned above! I wanted it low profile and I think the cab needs to flex/rotate independent of the bed in some way. If you extended the rack/basket/whatever over the cab just make sure its up a little bit from the rooflines to allow for some flex between the two halfs of your truck. Good luck!

Love this idea, looking into doing it myself now. Finished product looks awesome. If you don’t mind me asking where did you get the ACAD drawings for the side rails?

Sorry for the late reply and thanks for the compliments.
If you search @junior (very nice member on this site) and DIY Roof Rack I think you will find the drawings you need. If you can't, let me know and I'll send them to you.
    Best.

Yes! Thank you again @Badknees. @Ilgie the link to them is about half way down my first post here. https://www.tundras.com/threads/my-diy-roof-rack.79617/
