I recently purchased my 2nd Tundra, a 2008 5.7v8 Crewmax 4x4. The truck is "stuck" in 2wd, and the 4lo indicator light is blinking. I don't need to use my truck for 4x4, so it isn't a big deal.

However, the transfer case makes a weird clicking noise every 5-10 seconds that you can hear when idling (or stopped at a light).

My question is, can I remove my 4WD fuse and eliminate the power to the transfer case (thus stopping the clicking noise)?

I know I can remove the 4lo actuator and try to fix the problem, but if the truck is working properly in 2wd and I don't need the 4x4, can I stop the transfer case from trying to engage and making the clicking noise.

    Thanks!
