    Good Morning
    I am trying to decide between a TRD Pro and a TRD Off Road or Sport. Generally speaking this ride will be for street/mall crawling, beach driving with dunes, fire trail type driving and snow. I realize the Pro comes with some features that the Off Road and Sport do not. I am wondering given the price difference and availability between the two if it might be easier to get an Off Road or Sport and upgrade the suspension and tires and wheels. Thoughts.

    A little bit of background, I am currently rocking a 2nd gen Tacoma TX Pro with 3 inch lift and 285/70/17s

    I personally went with the Sport because I wanted everything color matched.

    If you're willing to upgrade suspension and tires, it may be worthwhile to pass on the Pro. Their prices are going to more inflated as well.

    Are you you looking for some comfort items such as heated/ventilated leather seats?

    Correct....if you are replacing the suspension, buying a Pro would be a waste of money. You would be paying at least $10K more for the truck just to remove stuff from it.

    I mean, for me, if you're more concerned about the fire trail/dunes, I'd pass by the Pro and spend the $ you save on a sweet *true* off-road setup.

    From what I've read and seen on youtube, the aftermarket for Tundra parts is really low. As a former Tacoma owner as well - there is no shortage of stuff you can upgrade for the Taco but I'm not seeing options available for my Tundra. Just finding a bed mat or rear step is a lot of searching and reading.

    If you want new suspension and actual lift (not spacers) you may want the Off Road. I just watched a video yesterday where the shop was lifting a Tundra and said; "Due to lack of 3rd party support, Tundras only have spacer lifts for now. Real lifts don't exist yet"

    edit; I just saw this was in the 2.5 gen forum. I was talking specifically about 3rd gen.

    Based on the fact that so many Pro owners are reworking suspension anyway...unless the interior and stamped bed is a must have, I would pick up any other version and do your own upgrades.

    It really doesn’t matter what you get if you’re willing to replace suspension, wheels and tires. No need to limit yourself to TRD anything.

    Borrow a buddy's Pro and drive it down some of the stuff you're primarily concerned with handling. If ground clearance, handling and ride comfort are there, then there's your answer. It would be a one and done with no need to mod/upgrade the suspension. All too often people get bit by the mod bug though..... then realize they should've saved money on the SR5
