Put new tires on Tammy the tundra. BF Goodrich ko2 tires 265/75/16 they ride so good. They feel heavy but the truck is much more stable

I agree. Best looking all terrain. They are coming out with the KO3 this spring. People have reported getting great deals on the KO2's recently since they are being phased out. You may want to start looking now for a good deal.

On that topic, and back to the thread topic, this is from yesterday actually.

Seems CRC is the only slip additive LAPS carries, so that's what I'm going with. I'd prefer Redline, but don't want to wait, let's try something new from a name I trust.

Started with 2oz, went in last night. Didn't have a funnel small enough for the breather vent hole, so used a scale zeroed on the full bottle, couple squeezes until I was 2.1oz lighter. About 0.1 oz dribbled down the pumpkin, so it should be almost dead-on 2oz.

I'll probably get a chance to drive today, maybe it naturally mingled overnight. I'll add 1oz increments until the chatter reduces to where it was prior to changing fluid. I always had a tinge of chatter when cold but it was barely noticeable. Anyone else may've thought it was the tires. If it takes more than 5-6 oz, Lucas 80w90 here I come.

Work is going to have me traveling again soon, @ y'all AZ boys at least one of those trips will be to PHX probably in May-ish. I'm outta town all next week, so I won't be driving much (my better 3/4 won't drive the truck), and will likely be posting less also.

I was just going to replace my rear bumper after a little fender-bender, when I got the old bumper off, I found out how rusty the reinforcement beam was under it. So I ordered a new one along with a new bumper

The shape of the axle where it meets the front diff leaves the seal exposed and has me nervous. Am I missing something? Anyone else install this axle?

 

I noticed the same thing when I used oriley maybe? I only had them in there temporarily while I rebuilt my oem axles

Finally got the correct length power cable in for the winch - got all the cables loomed and routed the way I wanted. Not a huge project, but satisfied my OCD.

 

Cut, split and loaded a nice load of red oak today. Stacked it pretty tight, so it’s likely about a cord. Trailer’s springs were on the bump stops, which is no small feat on these military trailers. Truck handled it fine.

 

Quick brake question: do the pads with the screechers go on the inside or the outside?
Never done brakes on this truck before and whoever did them last put both pads with screechers on the same wheel (passenger side), shouldn’t it be one on each wheel?

I think I’ve been cooking this pad for a while…

 

IIRC the wear indicators are on the inboard side. You may want to invest in new caliper pins as that can cause the uneven wear seen in your photo

 

Well, I went with outboard, tabs down per a YT video I found, hope that’s right…

 

How did your rotor look? Usually using brakes when there's no brake pad left will give you some rotor damage

 

I probably should have replaced them, kinda kicking myself for not, but they actually looked good (there was still a little pad material left, no metal on metal), they aren’t that old and they seem to be running smooth and true with new calipers and pads.
I don’t think I bled it adequately though, or maybe the rotors are glazed, it stops okay but seems like it should be better.
