Hi, new to this forum and thought I’d jump in and maybe get some feedback. I have a ‘14 Tundra and have installed a Bullydog chip. I’m thinking of adding a Throttle chip module to the gas pedal for quicker response when hitting the gas. Does anyone have any advice on this? I find the Bullydog chip in sport mode just isn’t enough for throttle response. Thanks for any help.

The Pedal Commander definitely works for better acceleration. Do not have BD, but do have PC.

Seems a shame the BD cannot get you what you need........

Have you tried Beast Mode? If not do a search for it. May not be practical for everyday use, but fun.

Thanks for the responses. I’m just worried about messing around with my truck too much. I don’t want any negative effects. Do you think having the truck chipped with a Bullydog along with a throttle module would have any bad effects?

BD you can adjust throttle sensitivity.
BTW Bullydog is a Tuner. A chip usually installs in-line of the ECM and stays there. I actually turned my throttle sensitivity down from performance mode. Over the slightest bump in the road it causes your foot to barely move on the throttle, my truck would either downshift or the torque converter would unlock.

But if you do want more than that I’m pretty sure the pedal commander would work, because that just changes your input from the pedal only. Let’s see what @dirtydeeds says.

Yeah, beastmode is fun, I wonder if a throttle module would be much better.

    Flux capacitor!
I have the Bully Dog GT tuner and the Pedal Commander system. The pedal commander does eliminate any lag in the throttle response.

Sport + 4 is like Beast Mode on PC.
Lots of good reviews for Pedal Commander. Not much or any other ""Throttle modules" mentioned on here. I know there are some cheesy ones out there.......

That’s good to know, thx. The one I’m looking at is called Pedal Chip X, it’s on eBay about $100 cheaper than the Pedal Commander. Much appreciated ppl, nice to get some feedback.

I’ve read people drive around in tow mode , I tried it today without my boat and i didn’t like how touchy it was it’s the same with my boat it’s super jerky either way off the line. Does the pedal commander have a more gradual pull? If it’s anything like tow mode off the line I don’t think it will be something for me. I would like more pull but smooth and broad

The PC does have City and ECO modes that somewhat retard the accelerator. Not sure how that would interact with Towing or Tow Mode.......

The PC has a 30 money back policy. If the PCX has similar, give it a try and report back on it, inquiring minds would like to know. :)

Pedal commander and bullydog combined would work fine. Just a matter of whether or not the end user likes it. Only one way to find out. Try it!!

I understand that this is an old thread, however I wanted to add for anyone still reading this that the Pedal Commander and Bully Dog don't compete with each other, even if both companies say they don't work together. They are very nice compliments to each other

Agreed. The ultimate combination is bulludog and pedal commander.
